Since everyone has pretty much dumped this freak, I'll be using his sick threads as my music threads. Won't hijack a successful one, if any.
Who hasn't sang in the shower (where I sound just like John Lee Hooker) or did some air guitar while singing along? It's all about influenses, because we all grew up listening to the radio and those who came before us. You read up on the Rolling Stones you won't go far before ya read....Elmore James. You read up on Elvis, you won't go far before seeing....Big Boy Crudup. In Bob Dylans debut album he covers Bukka White, Blind Lemon Jefferson. Janis Joplin was heavily influensed by Bessie Smith. Willie Nelson a huge fan of Bob Wills. What Jamaican isn't inspired by Bob Marley and Peter Tosh?
This is Cream doing Outside Woman Blues.
How they knew about Blind Willie Reynolds, ???
He went by Joe and Wilie, only recorded three records, have them all on CD. One found not too long ago, yep....one copy.
The great Elmore James considered by most to be the greatest slide guitarist in them blues (Blind Willie Johnson in the debate)
Clapton does a great cover of that one.
