Should trade him while his value is still high tbh
Damn...Kawhi guarding the perimeter, Davis the paint, how great it could be? Pelicans cap space allow them only one max player in the next two years? Davis has the least talent around a franchise player in the league, at some point he'll demand more.

Agree with you, building a team around Anthony Davis and Kawhi Leonard, I like it.

I would say TP was actually a bigger reason. If he plays anywhere near an average NBA starting PG, they probably win the series. Sure Kawhi had his struggles, but he had to deal with a ball hogging PG that was playing badly.
That's the point of these threads though isn't it? If Kwahi is the man, then he needs to play like it regardless of what else is going on around him.

You can't say he's Alpha on the one hand and the turn around and use the "Parker was playing worse" defense. If Leonard is the main driver of the Spurs fortunes as is being touted in these threads then pick that lane and stay in it.

Tim Duncan was last year the best Regular Season Spurs player
When healthy Kawhi was last year best Regular Season Spurs player

In POs Tim was the Spurs best player and it's not even close

Next year, it will probably be between Kawhi and LMA but I think Kawhi will be the player with most impact on both end of the floor... now I would not be surprised if Tim was once again the MAN tbh

For the rest player fan creating a player fan thread per par... one thing is for sure OP won't be the most original poster of next season

He's also a big part of the reason Tim didn't get 6 last season.

    Just saying.
Lol. No. Just no. Parker being the worst PG in the playoffs is the reason Tim didn't go for 6 last season.

In a Playoff series, I'm taking Duncan, then Kawhi, then Aldridge.

What was this team doing in the post season after 2007? What happened once Kawhi got here? Oh yeah, WCF, Finals, le. He may not be the best player on the team but he is most def 2nd best and moving towards 1.
What were they doing? Uh, doing well in 2008 then injuries to Manu and Bowen. Then Bowen retired, and Spurs had injuries to multiple players for years (all 3 Manu, Tony, Timmy had injuries. Major ones to Tony and Manu). Spurs were already on the upswing the year before they got Kawhi because the team was healthy finally for the first time since 2007. . .and then Manu breaks his arm at the end of the 2011 season and we lose in the first round.

So literally it's been health. Spurs added Kawhi in 2012 but uh, he wasn't a major piece yet. Spurs got screwed out of Finals appearance by ref favoritism since Stern wanted a Durant vs LeBron Finals. 2013? Who carried? Duncan. 2014? Kawhi barely earned FMVP only having 3 good games and 2 ty ones but the team blew the Heat the out anyway. . .Kawhi did not dominate hard and cause that, the team did and Leonard just happened to be playing decent when we closed it out so he got it.

Let's not act like he Hakeemed the Heat or some . Cuz he didn't.

sure nothing to do with the fact Barnes was +22 this serie while LAC was overall -3 and Kawhi is -35 when Spurs was +3 !

oh and for good measure Parker was -6, +29 vs. Kawhi

More likely Matt Bonner was the +/- season MVP.

Since +/- is a reliable indicator of a player's value, Bonner is the best player on this team.

unfortunately the evidence is indisputable, tbh. even ray lewis couldn't cover this up.

don't be mad at me, be mad at kawhi for costing you a repeat. all that was awaiting were the headcase dwert rockets, got brothers, and dellydova scrubaliers.

I said before that +/- is a reliable indicator of a player's value. You've gotta get it right the first time? Good for you Braz!
