There's a strong case to be made that the current storm in the Middle East dates all the way back to when Britain got pissed off at Mosaddegh in the '50s, levied sanctions, sent in a blockade, and talked Eisenhower into helping them overthrow him in favor of the Shah. More recently, the British parliament basically lied both countries' way into Iraq with the September Dossier in 2002. I'd say both countries have plenty of blame to shoulder for the ed-up situation over there.
Even then, it's not all because of other countries' foreign policies - as long as oppressive dictators, religious radicals and terrorists are in charge, the Middle East will never be stable regardless.
Oh it goes way back before that. Persian empire had lots of turmoil. Too many heterogeneous ppls in the area. Then the crusades and the British empire drawing dozens of imaginary lines in the entire area and calling them countries.
They created lots of countries and installed puppet dictators.
Of course creating a zionst state in the middle of it all and dissapearing the ppl that occupied it did t help matters at all
