Sorry, but the mess in the Middle East predates both Bushes' administrations, is bipartisan, and Britain shoulders plenty of responsibility for it as well.
It is bi-partisan. But we share major responsibility for the current situation due to our war efforts there ... I don't know how you could think otherwise.

I encounter the "Middle East has historically been backwards/mess" argument by Americans frequently. Isn't the truth that ME was even with Europe up until the New World [Gold] was discovered? Isn't the Middle East more historically influential than Asia?
Are we to believe that if Russia invaded and dissolved the American government, things would be any different here? Inner cities would turn into war zones within 24 hours.
