TX Repugs, all dedicated lovers, respecters of the Cons ution and "freedom", will voter-suppress Latinos and blacks (as if deeply red (rural), insanely gerrymandered TX needed voter suppression).

All the smart people are in the big cities, Austin, SA, HOU, DAL are all blue.

If you look at these cities by socioeconomics thru precincts you will see the "smartest" people are voting red, very red. With the exception of Austin. This can be done thru avg. SAT scores by school. (If SAT scores indicate a bit of smarts)

I live in a very red precinct in San Antonio. The North and Northwest sides of San Antonio are largely red. Alamo Heights is red as well. You know this boots. You probably live in a red neighborhood boots?

Note blue SA, Austin, Houston, Dallas

TX was not always Repug, but it has always been rural and racist. The racist TX Dems converted to racist TX Repugs after the 60s in the Nixon/Repug Southern Strategy. The conversion from racist Dems into racist Repugs happened all through the South.

So a change in party was not a change of heart. No argument here.

The blue in the big city counties (Harris, Bexar, Dallas), is derived largely from the urban areas that are not wealthy.
With the exception of Austin (Travis) which have some fairly affluent areas that are blue.

    Btw...

Have you ever met a Republican who was not racist?

At this point, if it's Trump vs. Hilary, he'd clobber her. Even though she's supposed to be a Democrat she'd never have the guts to openly say rich people should be taxed more the way Trump has.

That might send big money contributions that would have gone to the republican nominee to Hillary though.

Hillary is going to win the big money contributions anyway if it's her vs. Trump, she's an establishment shill and Trump isn't.

Trump needs to start raising cash though unless he is serious about spending a load of his own money. What he is spending now is chump change compared to what he will need to win the general election.

    The Clinton's play dirty.
The Repugs have been infamous, 100% unethically FILTHY DIRTY going back to 1968

Nixon scuttled the Paris VN peace talks by telling the NV that they'd get a better deal after he was elected, denying Humphrey/Dems a campaign boost by ending the VN war. Nixon wasted 10Ks of US military lives by prolonging the war 7 more years.

St Ronnie killed the Tehran embassy hostage negotiations, telling the Iranians to hold the hostages until after the election, denying Carter/Dems the boost from ending the crisis. The day St Ronnie The Diseased was sworn in, Iran released the hostages.

And of course there's nothing dirtier than invading Iraq for oil, costing 100Ks of lives and destabilizing the M/E

And you say the Clinton's play dirty? ignorant simpleton.

The Democrats are in huge trouble.
And Trump is their only hope.

When things get serious, and Trump tries shooting from the hip, he will take a flamethrower to the hair. Just waiting to see which Republican dares to take off the gloves. If the Republicans wait, the Democrats will nuke him.

Republicans worry Donald Trump is making it harder to hide their racism

Strategists and leaders in the political party that's spent recent years blocking immigration reform and trying to ensure election victories by keeping non-white people from voting are worried that its leading presidential candidate is going to make it look racist. And while the temptation is to say "Don't worry, guys. Your policies already did that," it's hard to argue that Donald Trump is adding some extra pizzazz to the Republican tone on race."

That’s not a dog whistle; that’s a dog siren," one Republican strategist said of Trump's law-and-order-and-gangs talk, but the description could as easily apply to Trump on immigration or any number of other topics.

And that's the problem—it's all supposed to be done at dog whistle pitch and Trump is making it public. But his popularity then tempts his compe ors to make their own racial appeals a little less subtle, figuring that the dog whistle isn't audible enough to compete for base Republican voters over the sound of Trump's siren. That's scary for Republicans who are looking ahead to the general election:

Any candidate that allows Trump to dictate the conversation about what they’re campaigning on is going to be harmed irreparably,” said Josh Holmes, a Republican strategist and the architect of Senator Mitch McConnell’s re-election campaign in Kentucky last year.

“And to the extent that there are mainstream candidates dragged into the musings of Trump on a day-to-day basis is really bad news for us.”

But being dragged in they are.

You've got a long list of Republicans
attacking birthright citizenship, and Jeb! Bush, the one who was supposed to be able to win over Latino voters, talking about "anchor babies," then clumsily pointing a finger at Asian people to make the case that Latino votes are still his to get.

You've got not just Donald Trump but Ted Cruz planning to attend
an event hosted by a radical anti-Muslim group.

And you've got a bunch of Republicans echoing Trump's rhetoric blaming black people for police violence and racial division.

Consider the conversation already dictated by Trump.
