After the hits, two players were ejected. One was correct and one was not. The player who stayed in the game that should have been ejected ended up commiting a late hit on the opposing team's QB. So obviously he wasn't satisfied with just trying to hurt the ref.

Kids might have been coached to to hit that referee. Apparently the assistant coach/DB coach told them that the referee "needed to pay". Not saying the kids are in the clear but it's disturbing that a coach would consider that.
