Sounds like a bunch of kids throwing everyone under the bus to avoid serious trouble to me. "He called us dirty mexicans!...I mean uh, a coach told us to do it!...Yeah, that's it!...I mean, er uh..."
If 18 they absolutely do.
So if the ref was paralyzed... What then?
And Rob... You gotta do better than calling me a . Jesus Christ that's just pitiful. Tell me you will stuff your hand down my throat and rip my lungs out. Tell me you will smash my head into the floor and stretch my eyelids under the leg of a chair. Something... ? This won't do. You need to be coached up.

Kick the kids out of sports for a year. Any coach involved is out of a job. No brainer.
Ref will not see it this way.
Its also a license for a senior to kill a ref in his last game.
I'm sure it would lead to murder, but yeah, criminal charges if the DA sees fit. Ref can sue as well.
Maybe the two vatos were seeking revenge for 1836.
Grudges die hard.
You know what I mean. Some of those refs are older ex coaches. I know a few. They look forward to those games. They like helping out. The pay is absolutely horrendous. Those kids could really hurt the refs and they know it. These kids are very tough and they are a lot stronger than 15 years back. If they had hit an old coach with some previous back problem... And those were horrendous cheap shots.
Take it it out on your opponent while play is going on in a manner consistent with the rules, not some old out of shape fat guy.
A coach placed on administrative leave and this:
The district said both players will be taken to a disciplinary hearing and the incident will be tried as an assault on a school official. The Marble Falls Police Department said Tuesday it was presenting a final investigation to a Burnet County prosecutor, who will determine if charges should be filed.
All appropriate thus far IMO. Although I did not think refs were school officials whatever that is defined as.
@ accusing the ref of calling the players ******s during the game not once but twice
typical
what racial slur do you think the they are accusing the ref of calling them? your word is censored out.
i doub't he called them beahner's. nobody says that goofy offline. he probably told them go back to mexico or dirty mexicans, something like that.
A “school official” includes a teacher, school principal, president, chancellor, board member, trustee, registrar, counselor, admissions officer, attorney, accountant, human resources professional, information systems specialist, and support or clerical personnel. A contractor, consultant, volunteer, or other party to whom a school or ins ution has outsourced ins utional services or functions may also be considered a “school official” provided that they are performing an ins utional service or function for which the agency would otherwise use employees and is under the direct control of the agency or ins ution with respect to the use and maintenance of education records. See 34 CFR § 99.31(a)(1)(i)(B).

Has to be niggras or s.. The players last names were mexican, but who knows if they were the ones the alleged slurs were directed at
You do nothing to the kids, ya simply shut the football program down for a year. Fire all the coachs and start brand new in 2016.
All these referees understand the violence, they knowingly put themselves in harms way. Yes yes this is a little diffrent but basically the same thing.
No, it's not.
You really have no clue just how re ed you are
LOL. Don't punish the violent kids. Just punish everybody in the program for their actions. Brilliant.
The refs might sign up for incidental contact, but not an intentional hit
What did the Penn State football players have to do with that situation, well? How many programs have been punished because of a couple?
Yep, you dump the football program for a year, fire all the coachs and start over. You make damn sure this never happens again. The school makes a statement.
I have played in three alumni football games, each time having to sign a release so the school couldn't be held accountable. I put myself in harms way. yes those refs don't sign on to be mugged (ya reckon?) but they do understand that they are in a violent situation by choice.
Did you get participation trphies for your alumni games?
"Most Likely to Peak in Sop re Year"
The mentally re ed and the internet, sheesh~~~~~~
Signing up to play =/= signing up to ref
Let me slow it down for ya slick....
The minute you step on any football field you know of the dangers, ok little man? You do stand a chance of getting hurt. Refs know they can get injured, it happens all the time as we'll be seeing this season. They understand the dangers involved, ok guy?
OBVIOUSLY.....they aren't looking to be attacked...OK? But, they are looking to stay out of danger.
Little people....
This is just HS football, ok? Here it's all about building young people, ok ya with me. This is not Alabama, USC, ND, ok? This is not the NFL.
To see what we saw in this situation is more than enought to dump the football season. This goes beyond football, this is on another level. Football comes up tiny here, so get rid of it. The school sends a messagse to the community, making it very clear this sort of thing will never be tolerated at all, zero! The with football for that season.
Now think people, what is worst than it being known...you....are why the season is over? You have a better punishment than that, no ya don't!
