What did the Penn State football players have to do with that situation, well? How many programs have been punished because of a couple?

Yep, you dump the football program for a year, fire all the coachs and start over. You make damn sure this never happens again. The school makes a statement.

I have played in three alumni football games, each time having to sign a release so the school couldn't be held accountable. I put myself in harms way. yes those refs don't sign on to be mugged (ya reckon?) but they do understand that they are in a violent situation by choice.

The key word here is.....intent. That incident was done with passion, it was not plotted or planned, it was a spur of the moment emotional out burst. Totally different deal than kids mugging a ref.



Well I'll be damn it wasn't just a couple kids acting stupid.


According to Northside officials, the players were frustrated during the game by what they felt were wrong or missed calls by the referee. The players also alleged that the referee directed racial slurs at them.
The district said John Jay players told investigators that an assistant coach told them, "That guy (referee) needs to pay for cheating us."

The assistant coach, Mack Breed, has been placed on administrative leave during the investigation. District officials said Breed's comments could have led to the incident with the referee. Breed, 29, was hired by the district in 2010.
