The Bucs are firmly my second team. If Bucs were 100 on the fandom scale, the other 30 teams would average at about a 25. But the Ravens would be at least a 200. I'm not changing, but I'm glad there's someone I can watch. Actually, back in the day (1997 to 2008) it seemed like one (and only one) of the Ravens or Bucs would make the playoffs every year. So maybe those days are coming back.

I think he lives in MS. That means Tampa was competing with the Saints and Falcons for his fandom. Depending on his age, the Bucs seem like an obvious choice.

That's like asking, "How does one become a Christian?" I saw the light...

Seriously, the old elementary school I went to was called the Buccaneers. And I'm talking about the old school creamsicle orange ugly ass uniform Buccaneers. God, we were awful back then.

Well, the way I see it, if you're a Saints fan from MS, you're either young (to football) or fairweather. 10-15 years ago, the Bucs were a much better team. Timing is everything. Had the Texans been awarded three years earlier, I would be a fan of theirs and not the Ravens. But Baltimore's surprise SB run was enough to seal my fandom for the team forever.

Can't agree with that Chinook. A lot of the old timers here pulled for Archie Manning at Ole Miss...then automatically became Saints fans when he made the switch to the league. Then they had children...and a lot of them became Saints fans because of their parents. Take my mother for example...she was a die-hard Saints fan because of Archie. Now she is a New York Giants fan because of Eli...the Manning family almost have a cult like following down here.

Most people are Saints fans in Mississippi, southern Alabama, and up to Pensacola, FL. Proximity matters too. Hardly anyone was a Bucs fan where I grew up even in the late 90s and 2000s.

Well color me corrected then. I would have assumed the Bucs being a decent team for like six years while the rest of the region had the 'Aints, the fledgling or non-existent Panthers (though they started off well) and the Falcons pre-Vick by post Dirty Bird would gravitate toward the Bucs. , they got me all the way from Austin. But I forgot about Archie and also forget that the Bucs are a bad team that had a good run, not a good team that is down on their luck, which is how I think of them in my history as a fan.

seattle deciding to dump Unger and then pay Lynch seems to be backfiring so far. just 2 games, but they really have to adjust their playbook. they're trying to be like the seahawks of the last 2 seasons, but their personnel doesn't really allow for it anymore

eh... they already had an average offensive line and traded their best interior run blocker. then they pay the 30 year old RB and are still trying to play smash mouth.

its especially weird since they traded him for a pass catching TE and still are playing a really conservative offense. it just doesnt make sense

The big mistake was paying so much money for the below-average game manager QB. Struggle is the real reason their offense is so conservative, he's nowhere near good enough to carry a team, so they have to work within his severe limitations.

if they actually feel like wilson is holding them back, then yeah i'd agree that they shouldn't have paid him what they did. i dont think he's the problem, though.

oh look, once they start airing it out instead of trying to pound the ground game, they start scoring

    last 2 drives: 1 combined hand-off. 2 touchdowns
