I was able to see Heard's arrival in person tonight. Kid is a monster and it's clearly his team.

520 yards by himself and 650 in total offense. Unreal.

Gives me hope that UT can be compe ive in every game they play going forward.
We need to heavily recruit OL, DL, and LB in the next few years and really build this defense up.

I was actually happy when Haines got thrown out for targeting.
Same. He has been awful this year. He shouldn't have been out there after Notre Dame picked him apart.

why, Haines has been making plays out there. It was a horrible call tonight.
Because I think Haines is a liability.

I agree it was a bad call, though.

I think the refs stunk throughout the game.

I believe Cal got the first down on that first drive, it was a bad spot, but they were forced to punt. Then, that Cal receiver made the catch, and the overturn was garbage. The targeting call on Haines was complete BS (I see that type of play all the time and no call). Then after the fumble recovery in the end zone, the OL for Cal came in way late and dove into the defender who was lying on the ball). The stoppage of the play before the end of the 3rd, that cost us a chance to get a play off was horrible.

I still think our D is not so great.......However, I believe if we played on the WR at the snap, I believe our D would improve. Our DBs give way too much cushion at the snap of the ball, especially on short yardage situations. We need to shore up the stupid penalties.
the guy who slung heard down by his facemask is the one who should have been tossed. I couldn't believe they put that fourth quarter together after being beat down so bad in the 3rd. They need to free Heard a bit more, but damn he did great.

    The horror.

It was a complete game. The coaches, the offense and the defense all contributed to the loss. Then IMO Texas does not have a player who would start for Cal.

Called it. All these LSU guys are just toying around, probably at the command of Miles who is a known wackjob. Conspiracy theory, yes, but the proof is in the pudding. That's two weekends in a row for these guys and it all just smells of Lampkin-esque scandal.

Heard was running for his life on some of these plays.
I repeat, he will not last the year if the Oline plays poorly and he has to do what he did last night.
Our Dline also stunk. We got some confidence now but the schedule toughens up. When other teams see what Heard can do they will game plan for his scrambles. OUr Oline must help out here. And it's astounding practice did not reveal the difference between his ability compared to Swoopes. What the were the coaches watching?

.............because lsu looking like a probable playoff team & texas with a legit possibility of being 1-5 has nothing to do with it .....................

If someone says one thing but then does another thing repeatedly you gotta think it's pretty deliberate and actively misleading. It's nearly malicious. With a guy like Thornton who is already committed -- why even say you're going to visit? And then not? Twice (or more) in a row? It just doesn't add up.

My service showed a near-universal opening at -4 and the line is already -5 at several major books. Okie State getting pounded hard early on -- probably rightfully so considering the statistics must be enormously in their favor.

Vegas is tempting everyone to take UT+5. I think Okie St wins by 10+ imo

Per OrangeBloods, WR Collin Johnson is out for the year with a shoulder injury.

He still plans on enrolling at UT in January.

Update on ATH Lil'Jordan Humphrey of Southlake Carroll after attending the Cal game (24/7):

“It was a great game,” Humphrey said. “Texas fought really hard, and it was just an incredible game to watch. Texas has always been high on my list, so I can’t say if this visit changed anything with them."

“I just got a feeling of what gameday is like there, which is why I want to make the visit, and I really liked it.”

“They really spread the ball around,” Humphrey said. “They get the ball to their playmakers when needed, so I could possibly see myself fitting into their offense.”
