Yes, that's the reason they don't want cell phones ringing at school... because they could set off a bomb.
Never mind that the actual reason is that they are a distraction to learning...
But actual potential bomb triggers are A-OK!
And how did it pass as a bomb prop? No one thought it was a bomb.

I agree with you. Chump is the one pointing out that cell phones can be used as triggers.
And they're going off in schools virtually every second!
What are you prepared to do about this potential threat?
No one thinks fake bombs are real bombs.
So it didn't pass as a bomb prop.![]()
I'm not prepared to do anything. If you don't like a particular school's policies, take it up with them. But don't get mad when they actually follow their policy.
"People at the school thought it might be a bomb, perhaps because it looks exactly like a ing bomb." --Bill Maher
The actual "Arrest Students with Pencil Case Clocks" policy?
Is that posted somewhere?
But no one thought it even might have been a bomb.
Ever.
lol quoting Maher
Kid was arrested because the cops thought the school officials thought the kid thought people in the school might have thought that looked like a bomb.
People don't believe hoax bombs are real bombs. Hence the word "hoax".
Then why use a quote saying people thought it might have been a bomb and that it looks like a bomb, Darrin?
Do you think it looks like a bomb, Darrin?
Having seen the photos, I wouldn't be surprised if people said it looked like a bomb.
Do you think it looks like a bomb, Darrin?
I know what I'm looking at, so it doesn't look like a bomb to me.
But Maher said it looks like a bomb and he knew what he was looking at, so what you said doesn't make a lot of sense.
Something either looks like a bomb or it doesn't. You say it doesn't look like a bomb.
I agree it doesn't look like a bomb.

When I say "I know what I'm looking at", I mean I am familiar with electronic devices.
Maher probably doesn't know jack squat about electronics, but he's probably seen the cheesy movie prop suitcase bombs. That's why it would look like a bomb to some people. I think you're smart enough to understand what I'm saying.
What movie prop bomb looks like a clock in a pencil case connected to nothing?
The briefcase variety with circuits, wires, and red LED counter. You are smart enough to understand what I'm saying.
This wasn't a briefcase and the clock was connected to nothing.
If I only saw that photo, I wouldn't know it was a pencil case. It doesn't look like any pencil case I've ever bought.
No he's not.
You know the size of two prong plugs though, right?
His own engineering teacher told him not to show it outside of class because it looked su ous. The fact that it wasn't connected to anything is not material. The fact that the school and police judged that it was an attempt at causing a stir through a hoax matters.
