Again...you can't build ing Rome in a day. Expecting them to out the perfect offense and make all the adjustments on the fly in the first three games with a new OC and a new QB is pretty unrealistic. They made the right moves by going away from Swoopes/Watson. They've been in position to win two games against good teams since Norvell/Heard took over. Norvell has built an offense basically on the fly that plays to Heard's strengths and has made some decent adjustments like using Swoopes as the hammer QB on short yardage. He's also shown creativity with the WR pass play call that was a couple of feet from being a TD. Will Norvell be the answer in the end? That's yet to been seen...but to say he hasn't done a pretty damn good job with what he has on the time frame he's had to do it is just stupid.
And basically Strong has to be given an honest chance.

We end up looking like a school that knee jerks. Coaches looking to get hired that are good know it takes time and want to know they will be given adequate backing by the school. So getting rid of Strong so suddenly makes us look incredibly unstable, especially after the Patterson fiasco. If Strong is not the guy it needs to be obvious. And of course this also sends recruits fleeing and totally delays any rebuilding if Strong is not the. Guy. There is no Harbaugh waiting on us.

now that I have cooled down from yesterday, I will offer some perspective.

We got completely blown out by ND. We looked lost, disheartened, and apathetic. So heads rolled and it showed in the following 3 weeks.

Over the last 3 weeks, we have a new play caller, a new QB, and a bunch of excitement and promise.

We beat Rice down, probably should have beat them by more, but we are finding our way right now, so a win is a win.

We stood toe to toe with Cal and OSU, both games could have gone to OT, but we had kicking and game management difficulties. Also, our much maligned D was huge in the 4th quarter against Cal, as well as the final 3 quarters against OSU.

We had to just endure one of the worst and one-sided officiating games ever......I mean when did OSU become the Pittsburgh Steelers (owners of the two worst officiated games in SB history (one of the most penalized teams in the league but called for 0 penalties against Dallas......and then they absolutely robbed Seattle in the other one). The refs obviously had an agenda and were out to make sure we lost......and even with all the flags, it came down to the bobbled punt. I have to give credit to our young team for not giving up and for fighting hard against almost insurmountable odds.

We are 1-3, but could also be 3-1. I know the schedule is ugly and we may not win many more...but if we can just compete and take the games down to the wire, maybe these games we are finding ways to lose, we may just find ways to win.

Adjusting to the blitz so heard won't get killed should not be that difficult. Screens and slants.
Two inside screens to Daje were dropped. Marcus Johnson had a slant pattern go through his hands for a pick.

    Anything else?

Some of y'all want to replace Charlie after 1.4 seasons? He's going to get three complete seasons. They'll re-evaluate him then. This team keeps getting better every week. Yes, there will be some growing pains. The ship is pointed in the right direction. Chill.

I hate when QBs get ripped to shreds for completion %.....but what can they do, walk over to the WR and put the ball in his hands in the middle of the play. WRs have to make plays, especially when the ball hits them in the hands. The worst is the ball off the WRs hands that is then intercepted. I wish there was a way to take that INT away from the QB.....maybe call it a muffed INT or something, so the receivers have some culpability.

You still keep going to those plays. They were working in the first half. They went away from it in the second half.

I agree. You have to keep trying. One thing that did make me happy was seeing some slant attempts. I miss seeing slants, posts, and crossing patterns.

shaka once again with a huge miss ..............

My take on a lot of things. The two loses coaching blunders had more to do with than the kickers. If the ship is heading in the right direction is this down. The offense improved then regressed. The defense was bad then improved. Only thing constant is bad coaching no game management. How can next year be better when three OL, two starters grad. No replacements in sight. Could noy replace Perkins. Texas has supposed to have great OL coaches in the last five or so years but havent had a decent OL in ten years. Then Maybe Vince made them look good.

I hope Strong has time but unless he shows better decisions I am ready to join the he's in over his head crowd.

I would be more amazed if Shaka can get one of these 4 or 5* players than if he doesnt. Guy has not even coached 1 game yet....

Yeah...he hasn't even put a product on the floor yet. He's not just going to walk on the job at Texas and start beating out Kansas and Duke.
