Take the troll forum regulars, add 100 alt names to each and you have the ST majority of "posters". These aren't young kids spending all day saying the same thing for years. These are old fat s with no life, an inner circle jerk and meeting up at some dirty wing joint in SA to lulz over the most recent offerings. This is a weird anything go type of site I'm not used to. That being said there are some very smart people here and it is worth the time to weed through the bad. I just wish I wouldn't have started when Jimmer came here.
I think in a large part because the forum has devolved in many instances to a large number of threads devoted to cults of personality and lots less actual discussion of basketball. There are also the huge number of personal attack/size of internet ego posts where people go after each other.
There is still during the season a reasonable amount of basketball discussion but it rapidly gets buried in the trash.
You're kind of proving everyone's point, about the oddball clique obsessing over Parker and Kawhi, jumping on each other's butts without actually having anything to say in threads, random personal attacks, etc.
Honestly I'd give you the benefit of the doubt, but you've got almost 40,000 posts on this internet forum.

Pretty much this.... I'll add this: we love the Spurs because they win and they play the "Spurs" way. But some of us here don't act like spurs...instead we act like a bunch of kobes and westbrooks...waving our arms, "look at me i am so important, everything i say is right, if you don't agree then you are a moron", or when things don't go our way, flame away instead of having meaningful discussions. This forum is for Spurs fans, but many of us here don't act like Spurs fans.
We've all been frustrated with TP, Manu, KL, even TD from time to time. But they are our basketball heroes...they've done so much for the team. Yeah we may not be thrilled with the way they play at times and we come here to voice our thoughts...but why would one wish TP a career ending injury, or say Manu is washed up and trash, etc etc...? We probably wouldn't say those nasty things in front of other spurs fans in real life...especially when our star players are some of the most team oriented and humble players in NBA ever.

I'm not sure how long you've been posting here, I stopped reading and posting on ST in 2008 because of the annoying Parker vs Manu threads, two or three of them every day on frontpage.
Dark years, most of Tony Parker fans were the first trolls and haters, everytime when a spurstalker said Manu's one of the most creative passers in NBA, the best Spurs' playmaker, he had to deal with ty responses, Parker>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Manu, Manu's garbage.
Since #5 I occasionally visit this forum, I prefer to watch the games and read NBA writers on twitter.
I started here also back in 2008. there was some trolling back then but not in
just hate you see now. People are fed up with Parker, Tim, Manu hate threads by
some of these so called Spurs fans who are too cowardly to put the team who they are
really fans of. All you have to see is how many members are signed on or see how
many hours from the last post on some of the threads. Hopefully Spurs fans will come
back when the season starts.
I had been lurking this place for a number of years. Over those years I tried to register but never got approved. Can't think of any other vbulletin out there that practices this anymore, but in any case, I did not get approved till a couple of months ago. And now I'm asking myself what was the point. I come here to read updates on the Spurs and reactions and the rest is Reddit. vbulletin and the typical troll posts that comes with it is a dying breed. It gets old. And so yes, a lot of the Parker hating threads and other nonsense is enough for me to not want to blend in with the crowd. Whenever I thought about posting, I reminded myself that you wouldn't really get noticed unless you make some clever porker comment. To sum it up as someone said already, there is not a lot of basketball discussion in here and it's getting worse.
What any news? There's none. Its called the offseason and this year it was longer than usual. So, what do you want to read? How many times Danny Green picked his nose? Even SAEN's reporters are having trouble filling their quotas relying on some old news just to write something.
But don't worry, today is Media Day and Training Camp starts tomorrow. You should hear/read something about the Spurs soon.

I started reading here a little about 3 months ago when LMA rumors started, but I've never posted because all I saw were large amounts of mostly the same people sounding stupid making off the wall parker fat jokes/calling people gots and very little real thoughts/analysis about the team.. it seems like quite a few posters here have literally nothing to do but stake out their "territory" on a online forum rather than actually talk like normal fans of a team. Only positive I've found on the forum is its pretty up to date about the happenings of the team(signings, social media, video clips etc).
p.s. I think the only way to fix the forum would be heavy moderation.. ban some of the cancer users and moderate when threads get derailed as badly as they do around here.
