I don't see that as Manu playing out the deal. It makes more sense for everyone for him to opt out. The Spurs have his Bird rights to give him more money next year, and even if he's willing to play on that deal, they can free up cap space by having him opt out, get renounced and them reupping for the room exception again.
Barring major injury he will return.
but...but...he is taking a spot
cerebral and innately talented players tend to have long shelf "old life" if managed properly..i honestly think man can still be a + guy if he gets his load reduced significantly..18 MPG/15MPG sounds good for 2016 and 2017...all assuming the body is injury-free, nagging-stuff notwithstanding..
I don't think he plays another year, tbh. But I won't complain if he does.
Did Ginobili have reported knee issues last season? That's kind of how he was looking the last month of the season and the Clipper series.
I agree with you, the longer these guys stay the better as in when they are gone they are gone and regardless if they slow or not you will miss them as a fan. Why end the era if you still want to play? If you still physically can get out there and play and give some good mins then why not?
If this play out accordingly, iT would be amazing that Manu who came to the league at age 25 is going to have 15 season career in the NBA thinking how the chorus of mainstream opinions in mid 2000 not backing him to last long after 30 with his style.. For a moment-- after the injury-riddled 2008/2009 PO-- it looked ominously true, but he found a niche reinvented himself succefully helped by the fact fact Pop is the extreme opposite of Thibs..
Eso chingon! Long live Manu. The 2015 version or the 2005 version 48 points against Phoenix
He's finished. He can possibly play the role of Gatorade girl next season
MVGino doing MVGino things.
"I wanted to take the challenge" Did he really say that and not say that he wanted to "take dah pledge"?
Hijo de la chingada
Manu >>> puercador
I'd take three years of 40 yr old Manu over three years of current Porker. Srs.
Would love to see another year of one of the most creative players to ever touch a basketball.Viva Manu!
He's basically embarrassing himself out there. Like kobe
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieve it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
you're being too nice.
More like i'd take 10 years of manu for 1 year of parker
