So with my injuries to Dez, Jordy & ASJ here's what I did to try and keep my team afloat and get some upside/top talent back:
Traded Dez, Eifert & Hillman for Jeremy Hill, James Jones, Vincent Jackson & Mart Bryant
o Logic: Had already lost Jordy and then possilbity of Dez for 6+ weeks. In order to get a top 15 draft pick in value for Dez (Hill) I had to give up Eifert. But I also had ASJ & Vernon Davis who looked solid. So I thought it was worth it. Got me a talented player for close to Dez's value (even if healthy) and some depth at WR which I needed with no Jordy/Dez.
Traded: Emmanuel Sanders, Matt Ryan & Doug Martin for Luck
o Logic: I needed to swing for the fences with talent and Luck had the biggest upside for big games. I went really strong WR during draft (Dez, Jordy then Sanders) in a full PPR league, but had to adapt with injuries. Plus, Sanders worried me with how Manning looked. With getting Luck had no need for Ryan so throwing him in made no difference to me. Fucntionally it was Sanders/Martin for Luck which is fair and I got what hopefully is the best player.
Traded: Mart Bryant/Lance Dunbar for Lamar Miller
o Logic: Wanted to have a really strong stable at 2 positions and with Luck and RBs of: Jeremy Hill, Latavius Murray, Lamar Miller, CJ Spiller & Blount I should have that. Plus Bryant wasn't helping me for 2 more weeks anyways.
So my initial team:
QB: Matt Ryan
WR: Dez, Jordy, Sanders, John Brown & Mike Wallace
RB: Latavius, Spiller, Doug Martin, Blount & Hillman
TE: Eifert, ASJ & Vernon Davis
Team after trades/losing Dez/Jordy/ASJ
QB: Luck
WR: James Jones, Vincent Jackson, John Brown, Mike Wallace & Brandon Coleman
RB: Jeremy Hill, Latavius Murray, Lamar Miller, CJ Spiller & Blount
TE: Vernon Davis, Jared Cook & Coby Fleener
K: Bailey
DEF: DEN
Obviously need some help at WR, but after all the injuries in a 12 team league? I think I did ok and at least have guys with top flight upside (Luck, Hill, Miller) if they start to play closer to their draft spot.
That's 2 weeks in![]()
