start LMA at center just to troll
Can't wait to see all the kneejerk reactions
Simmons plays well? --> "Wow, I think we found our Manu replacement! This kid is going to be huge for us this year!"
LMA plays poorly? --> " this, we gave away Tiago for some soft POS. PATFO have no clue what they're doing."
Spurs lose? --> "I don't have a good feeling about this season anymore. I can just tell we're getting eliminated in the first round."
start LMA at center just to troll
aldridge injury incoming....
oh wait this isn't the cowboys
Why is he keeping West with the team? Isn't he older than Bobo and Parker?
Still a lot of preseason games left to be played. Right now the prerogative is probably to ween the roster down from 20 to at least 16. I'd be highly surprised if the battle for the last spot comes down to anybody but Jimmer and Butler.
Then we will probably see the vets play more minutes in the last 3 home games...which is better than the 1 preseason game where they would typically get good run in the past.
West needs all the playing time he can get to get acclimated to how things are done here. It's more important for him to get practice in actual game situations than it is for guys like Diaw or Parker.
a lot of over-analyzing, tbh..
The players will be playing at 60-70% effort, probably..it's a glorified scrimmage..
Pop almost always staggers the regulars in early preseason games.
Kyle Anderson last year with a few strips, some bullet passes and some highlights against the Kings preseason. Kawhi was ill for that game though, so he played 29 mins.

The game will be replayed the next day in NBA TV. FYI
Looks like Pop isn't making the trip either
You're probably right about who the last roster spot/s come down to, but I seriously doubt they're going to trim down the roster to 16 after the first preseason game. That's not really giving anyone much of a chance. We'll see though.
Oh, I agree...the first few preseason games will all probably be part of that process. It makes sense that they would be giving the end of the bench extended run as they root through thse decisions.
I don't like Messina tbh. He's a a defensive specialist but is not considered elite on the other end of the court. His teams, especially CSKA, always wanted to slow the pace, the big men played a traditional center role...Not sure if he has the ability to adapt his style to the new fast paced-small ball game.
Doesn't matter. He isn't the heir apparent, Ime is. EM is just here to cut his NBA teeth.
Maybe that's our new style....an lma and Kawhi offense can certainly grind. We'll see.
We certainly saw all the big men last night, and a rather slow game if it wasn't for the TO that created a few fastbreak opportunities. We would have won the game last night if LMA had been better. He was off and he tried to make a few plays fir open 3s for Danny that were botched. The loss wasn't all on Messina last night, but I didn't like some of the plays he called I'll give you that. Becky was better in SL with calling plays and putting guys in positions to shine.
How do you figure that? I don't think the heir apparent is on the bench right now.
Well...I don't like Messina's lack of creativity when he plays the big men. LMA can't have a "traditional bigman role" in the post, he's a versatile power forward with a deadly mid-range shot.
Agree with you, the lost wasn't all on Messina, and LMA was off, but I would have liked to see our coach running better plays for LMA than forced iso-post.

I hope so...but I'm not sure if Pop thinks the same.
