My preview
It's been a long summer, as the Jimmer thread clearly exemplifies, but Spurs basketball is upon us again! Exciting times. I wrote a 1000 words piece breaking down interesting matchups and subplots in this game (like Parker vs Rondo), but unfortunately Pop decided to rest the big 3 + Diaw and apparently himself (plus I hit the wrong button and lost the entire thing), so scratch that, and let's revisit a bit what's at stake in this particular game.
Now, some people will claim that preseason games don't matter, but this is actually a pivotal game for this Spurs team and the franchise. New additions like LMA and West are making their debut, but also a sonic wave of young, fresh, hip, pimple faced newcomers will be available and fighting for a roster spot. If you're just looking for the same old boring Spurs, there's Matt Bonner. He's just there. It's been said that you know greatness when you see it. So we should see Spurs greatness in this game. And if we don't, it's not too late to tank, tbh. That's why this game has the potential to make or break our season, so you don't really want to miss out.
A few words about our opponents. Some good players in Damascus Cousins, Rudy got (as dabom would say), Darren Collison, McLemore and our own Marco Belinelli and James Anderson. A few has been in Rondo and Butler. After that, nothing worth mentioning. Projected to be a cute little team fighting hard not to finish last in the West.

Expect a first mini meltdown here tbh..if we lose with LMA chucking a brickhouse in typical Blazers-BALL; Boban posterized by Cousins and proving too slow for nba, Kawhi looking immobile after bulking up..ST Spurfan won't disappoint..
