Lets tank

I think today's game was dedicated to the starters & the end of bench scrubs since the bench already showcased their stuff in the first preseason game.
Pop being Pop & not giving a after he saw all he needed w/ the starters![]()
Boban was still a force on defense protecting the rim he just needs to play freely on offense. He looked decent posting up so that might be a way to get him comfortable rather than throwing the ball at him in traffic & expecting him to catch/finish.
In addition, he gave playing time to scrubs who won't make the team just because he had to. This was a throwaway at the end.
Was it just me or was Miami and their crowd a little too excited for a preseason game?
Yeah that guy.
He tries on defense and . What a ing loser.
Their team missed the playoffs last season that's probably why they were hyped for a win in the preseason.
Their wounds from 2014 still haven't healed & their nemesis was in town.
The bench needs an infusion of a live body in the form of Jan Vesely. I can't imagine Bonner playing w/ the SlowMo crew........
oh , the spurs are 0-2 in the preseason. We need to blow this team up and package leonard with aldridge and green.
Which "Green" are you referring to?
Gerald
I didn't think we could get him? Was he actually interested in coming here? I was interested in him, especially if he would have signed for a 1 year minimum deal, but I figured he wanted to go somewhere where he'd get more court time, so even if he was willing to sign for the minimum, I thought he wanted to play for a team what would give him more minutes. I don't think he would have been guaranteed that on the Spurs.
I'm ready for that season opener against OKC, i know the starters will be aswell. The second unit should be fine once Boris plays.
Nah, Spurs never inquired. He was definitely available for the taking though but, the Spurs as usual took a flier on untapped potential with little to know NBA experience over a proven vet. Ya know, the "lightning in a bottle" strategy. I hope it pays off but, after two preseason games, he's been pretty underwhelming and that's putting it mildly.

I'm sure the Spurs would've signed him if they could.
They never tried. They felt Anderson and Simmons were enough, tbh. That's quite the gamble because if one or both don't pan out, their bench will be shorthanded at SF.
I think Goran Dragic recruited him heavily since they were teammates in PHX
This TBH. I like Boban, but he's a project that will take time to adjust.
Well there were people here talking about getting him during the off-season as he's Danny Green's cousin. From what I read though, they're not close, but they are still cousins so I figured the Spurs had some chance if they were interested in him and he was willing to take the minimum.
Surely the Spurs would have contacted him if they were interested, or maybe they did and he told them he wasn't interested and wanted to go to a team where he's likely to get consistent minutes. I think Goran Dragic played a part in getting him to Miami and if I'm remembering correctly, Green had his best season in the NBA when Dragic was the starting PG of the Suns. I did mention that at the time (SAGirl reminded me with her post below) as being one of the main reasons why I thought he chose Miami.
Has G. Green said anything about the free agency period and if there were other teams he was looking at? Also, wasn't Simmons signed well after Green signed with Miami? So I'm not sure what the Spurs were supposed to do there, just sign no-one? Maybe they started looking at Simmons after all those other guys were gone. It's hard to say without knowing if the Spurs tried to sign him or not.
The only teams that showed an interest in him to my knowledge were Portland, Miami and Boston. I asked Paul Garcia via twitter if the Spurs showed interest in GG and his answer was no though, I don't know how credible sources are. They both signed roughly around the same time, July 9th-11th. I don't remember which domino fell first. Let me put it this way, if the Spurs were interested, they kept a real low profile about it. I still think Anderson/Simmons were the reasons why they passed on a player like Green. I know Green isn't a great defender but, neither is the combo of Simmons and Anderson. They could have used the extra depth.
Edit: I'm talking about agreeing to terms, not actual signings. The Spurs actually signed Simmons late in July IIRC.

Da was that? Mostly Heat highlights.
Yeah, I sent the wrong link. Some Miami B.S.It's been corrected with better highlights in the original post.
Fair enough. If the Spurs showed no interest, then I think they may have passed on a good player as I did actually want him. My main concern with him was his lack of defense, but I figured that he could improve that with the Spurs. Having said that, I still didn't think he'd want to come here, or even if he did, I didn't think he's sign for the minimum without any guaranteed minutes to go along with it.
