I gotta agree in that there's literally no creativity involved in these alts.
For the sake of blatant subjectivity I'll blame the cartoonishly uninspiring design to the manufacturer and not to the powers in team management.
In other words, either do a real alternate or gtfo and stick to the originals. Sheesh!

That would be the good choice to bring back, which is why they won't do it... I hate the fact they ignore what the people want and keep making some alt jersey that looks okay at best. Those you showed were nice, classic.Bring these back imo.
Who's they? I agree that would be the style to bring back though.
The people who make up the design of the jerseys and the ones who give it the okay like it is a good look. I think players and fans should be able to have a say or a vote in what jerseys the teams would wear with several options to choose from.

When it comes down to it, its just a tier version of the normal black Spurs jersey.
Yeah...never been a fan of the floating Spur jersey.
i really like them, but they could have been soooo much better.
i have to agree with all the peeps who'd rather have the gervin era jerseys.
I think there's a fairly clear reason for introducing these alternates: if the NBA decides to put advertising patches on the jerseys, the Spurs are already good to go with both a home and a road jersey that fans are already used to.
Whether this is a sign that such a deal is pending in the next 1-3 years is debatable (coming out of a new CBA agreement as part of BRI would be as good a bet as any), but the Spurs at least are planning ahead.
I wouldn't even be surprised if there are mock-ups buried in a filing cabinet somewhere with an HEB patch included. (No inside info, just speculating.)
