Raphael Kirby to miss rest of 2015 season

Miami senior linebacker Raphael Kirby will miss the remainder of the season with a right knee injury he suffered during the Hurricanes' 30-20 win Saturday over Virginia Tech, the school announced Sunday.
"We are tremendously disappointed for Raphael Kirby," coach Al Golden said in a statement. "He is the true definition of a leader on the field, in the community and in the classroom. His commitment to our team and our goals has been unquestioned over his career and he will be sorely missed. We will support Raphael through his recovery as we continue to lean on his leadership for our team."
Kirby, a captain, leads the Hurricanes in tackles (44), and he had started 19 straight games dating back to last season.
The Hurricanes had already lost linebackers Darrion Owens (knee) and Marques Gayot (neck) for the season. Sop re Juwon Young replaced Kirby on Saturday.
Miami (4-2, 1-1 ACC) travels to undefeated and No. 6 Clemson on Saturday.
