A successful one?
after the 2016 Olympics
what kind of narcissistic got stays on for over a decade, including three olympics?![]()
A successful one?
It's the national team, moron. Not an NBA team or Dook.
The team is the overwhelming favorite to win every game it plays. The NT coach is basically a glorified baby sitter and it's more of an honor than an actual coaching position--basically it's hey you've been a great head coach for your career so you get the honor of coaching the NT. There's plenty of other great coaches (Pop, Carlisle, Thibs) that are waiting for that honor while this narcissistic got goes for his three-peat.
If you've really got a problem with Coack K being on for so long....blame Jerry Colangelo.
He's the chairman of the Board of Directors. His call to make tbqh....
If it was such a slam dunk then unc gots like larry brown and george karl wouldn't have ted themselves, tbh
He's a got too but I don't see how it's his call to make. I don't think he's going to fire a coach that just won a gold medal, it's up to Coach Krznarcissitic to step aside.
The best players have actually played under Coach K. Put Kidd, KG, Kobe, Tmac, Shaq on that '04 squad and Brown wins easily too. Coach K people try to attribute the fact that the best players are suiting up to him but it has more to do with them realizing that the USA might get embarrassed if they don't. I think before '04 the superstars figured the USA would win even without them.
dude will probably also write a book "HOW I REDEEMED THE DREAM TEAM" or some sht
tbh, how much of a greedy you can be to hog this for 3 Olympics event..Really should have stepped down at least after 2012..Pop should have taken over right then but now will have one shot at OG 2020 with presumably weaker cast..
It's a boon for Coach K's recruiting when he has the entire USA basketball roster on speed dial. That's why he refuses to walk away.
Wasn't he supposed to retire in 2012?![]()
Go stand in the hurricane Pablo, you say some of the dumbest I swear. Who really cares about who's coaching the Olympic basketball team? It honestly doesn't matter.
Just over a year ago in Chicago, Gregg Popovich raised the question with commissioner Adam Silver at the annual NBA coaches meeting: How did the USA Basketball national coaching job turn into a lifetime appointment for a college coach?
"Isn't an NBA coach good enough to coach NBA players?" is one of the queries to Silver that peers in the room remembered Pop asking of the commissioner.
Pop offered several candidates, including Doc Rivers, as deserving of a chance to coach the Olympic team. All around Pop, NBA head coaches nodded with agreement. Popovich never offered his own name, though.
^That right there is the difference between a true leader and a narcissistic got.
Pop will get his long overdue gold medal then let other deserving coaches have that honor.
Team USA will probably get beat again in the coming years honestly. These euros play together year round and play the game the right way. Every year the gap gets smaller and smaller. Then maybe coaching will actually matter.
damn looking at this roster we are really gonna struggle once lebron/durant and go get old. is the talent level going down or something?
Eh, Anthony Davis and Kawhi are enough to get the NT by imo.
The Gasol bros, Manu, Enrique/Diaw aren't getting any younger either.
none of those guys are their entire team though, they actually play team basketball unlike the US team which is different each year and has limited amount of time to gel together. lol kawhai
True but that alone has never been enough to defeat Team USA. Those foreign teams need a true star (Gasol bros, Manu) to compliment their team ball in order to stand a chance.
After AD, Kawhi is the best under 25 player in the league tbh.
It`s easy lastname. Krzyżewski
Watch Jerry Colangelo bail from the Olympic basket ball committee after coach K leaves.
He hates Pop and holds a grudge from his PHX days. I bet he asked Phil first.....
