MVP sleeper pick, IMO...Yes, he still lack a bit Alphaness to prevent the type of the embarrassing Rockets collapse, but dude has been coming along and improving in strides..if the Clippers are top 2 seed in the West in the 60 win range, a goal which they are gunning for, it will be him getting the consideration..

LOL I actually like Griffin more than Paul ...but if they do what you say and they stay healthy Paul would get the votes. Narrative will be he adjusted his game to incorporate Deandre more in offense allow Pierce to close etc. And how much he sacrificed his numbers and ball pounding ...but became more efficient.

Doubt MVP comes from Clippers, though. I think they will All be so good and their offense so balanced that both Blake and Paul will get votes but Harden, durant, Russ, or curry will win.

There is no way Russy/Durant in are ever winning an MVP after 2014-15 b/c they will split the votes. Blake's only chance of being a candidate is if CP3 gets injured & he carries the team to a top 4 record ala Harden. Lebron has a chance if the Cavs win 65+ games & he doesn't take a mini-vacation.

Anthony Davis the odds on favorite as long as he stays healthy. Harden has a chance considering Dwight is always injured & they have a chance to finish w/ the best record in the West. Curry could pull a Steve Nash & win back-to-back without being the best player in the league if they win 65+ game again since he's the heart throb of the league.

Blake has no chance at MVP as long as the overdribbling heroball got at PG continues to hog the ball and put his personal stats above the team.

What? Didnt Pelicans just lose Tyreke Evans? As OP stated for Blake ..for Davis to win Pelicans need a top 2 West record. Top two! Go back at every MVP since 2000. off the dome each led their team to a top 2 finish in the conference. At least half of those had the NBA's best record or the 2nd best record in the league.

    Rose
    Curry
    Durant
    Lebron
    Dirk
    Kobe
    Shaq
    Duncan
    Nash

Almost every recent MVP has a top 2 conference record even AI had one his MVP year ...Dont see how people can argue Davis is the favorite. Im also willing to take a ELE, avvy or signature bet he does NOT win the MVP this year ...because NOLA wont finish higher than 5th.

There is a first time for everything so as long as the rest of the contenders don't run away w/ the best record in the league then he has a good chance.

15 years (i could go back 30 if you like) dictates otherwise. So where do you see NOLA finishing? You do realize that Kobe/durant and Shaq with crazy scoring numbers, Lebron with amazing efficiency could not do what you are predicting Davis will do (win a MVP without a top 2 seed)?! I think the last guy to win one without a top 2 seed was Mj's first award (IIRC). Dont think anyone has done it since ... but I coudl be wrong he may have had a top 2 seed his first MVP year as well ...

KG in 2002-03 finished a close second to Tim who was at the peak of his prime even though the Wolves won only 50 games. Tim led the Spurs to a league best 60 wins despite not playing with an All-Star. Davis might be as good 2002-03 as KG RIGHT NOW but his compe ion isn't as good as 2002-03 Tim. LeBron has a loaded team & plays in the East, Curry has to win 60+ & Harden has a better supporting cast.

If the Pels win 50 games in the West & he's putting up video game number then he's a very good shot. Kobe put up numbers & missed the playoffs, KD had Russy, Shaq always played w/ an All-Star, LeBron played in the Leastern Conference...etc. Davis also has the likability factors ala Curry.

That was in 2013-14 when Blake broke through & because a legit superstar after CP3 got injured (Crawford was also balling out during that period). Last season it was Blake that actually had a staph infection on his elbow & missed a bunch of games.

"At PG." As in point guard. Unless Blake's switched positions or something, it's pretty clear to anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together who I'm referring to there.
