At least they got Wesley Matthews out there early to risk another Achilles injury
Butler, I think, has made the team.

He also seems to be a much better passer than most centers out there.
I don't think we will see triple OT out there. He'll be managed better. Kyle will pick it up with other bench guys and we'll live with the result. I don't think Pop is pulling up what occurred in Dec. last year even if Tony and Kawhi are injured at the same time again. We have healthy Patty, RAy and Kyle. We'll live with what those guys can give. LMA should pick up more minutes if need be. I don't think Manu will go through the same as last year. He was never quite back the same after that bad stretch. He acknowledge publicly 20 mins he'll be good. If you need him for 35 for a game (OT or what not), he wont be good for the last 15.
Yeah. And Pop cut his minutes tonight. It'll be interesting to see how much he plays at OKC.
I've been saying this since day 1
We haven't seen Bonner, we have played Kyle and Butler as stretch 4 of some sort. I am afraid to predict it, but I don't know what is up with Bonner.
Who do you think makes it from Simms/Williams?
Who the is going to replace Marco if they cut Butler?
Simmons isn't any better than Tony Allen when it comes to shooting.
I would guess Simmons because of the contract. But neither have been impressive.
Did Simmons make a jumpshot at all the entire preseason? I mean, I think his game was alright throughout, but that's still concerning.
I like Butler for now. I have rooted for Simmons all summer for his potential. But for some reason Pop keeps Williams around. He doesn't show me much good or bad, but Pop must see something more in practice or even the locker room.
I was hoping his last one tonight would drop, especially since I think he could have taken his defender on a drive.
I can't recall him hitting a jumper.
Not a one that I can remember. He made bad decisions on jumpshots too. In past games, he passed up open 3s to drive and presumably dish, but it was bad results, from traveling, to TO in congested paint. Then he forced up contested shots, when he could have looked for something better. I used to like him a lot specially next to Anderson, mostly bc he's athletic and an unselfish player, but he didn't show anything, and he got a lot of chances. Pop has a tough decision. It could be confidence issues, but its troublesome if you need him at some point, and he doesn't have confidence.
Williams looks to me as a better shooter than either Butler or Simmons. Just look at the numbers in pre-season.
The problem though is that he's redundant.... you have McCallum who is much more athletic and an equally good shooter.
Soon we will know. Pop said he will made the finals cut tonight right?
Hoping it's Reggie or Bonner who gets cut.
Williams can actually shoot & is already a proven end of the bench NBA player (he made over a 100 threes a couple of seasons ago) meanwhile Simmons had a very good court vision/athleticism but can't shoot & has loose handles. If he was a lockdown defender like Tony Allen then he could have been a decent rotation player.
Spurs need athleticism on the wings.... Butler and Williams isn't going to provide that.
I'm almost certain Reggie Williams will be cut, and Bonner won't be cut. The question is whether Simmons or Butler get cut. I'm leaning towards both of them making the team.
Yea, I think emotionally it is going to be a hit for example if they cut Simms. Some of the personnel is attached to him bc of SL (I can think of Becky lobbying for him for example, and trying to coach him up). Kyle is probably very close to him too. It is going to be sad for some guys. I could see that Manu liked him too. I don't know. He's a good guy.
