That 40 seconds doesn't mean , stupid. There was 3:18 left when the Eagles got the ball back. That's plenty of ing time to drive the field...even with no timeouts. You get one more first down and the game is likely over. Pretty standard football practice, tbh.

Only there was well over 3 minutes left, dip . Not to mention Chip Kelly's offensive scheme which is basically run as many plays as fast as you can to tire out the defense. Getting the first down was much more important than shaving 40 seconds. Not that it mattered anyway.
