While that's true, were a top 3 road team and our tough part of the schedule IMO are these three weeks at home

I'll be as real as possible.

could lose to Philly, but might not...win?
    beat Indy
    will lose to GB
    beat ans
    beat Skins
will lose to either Dallas/NO both on the road.
    beat Atlanta
will lose to either Giants/Falcons, both on the road. (playing the Falcons twice in three weeks....stupid!)
    beat the Buc's

    13-3/12-4? I do see 11-5 before 14-2

Now imagine if Cam had the weapons surrounding him that Young had in those games...

    Let's compare Newton to RW.

    Wins

Newton has 35, Wilson has 39 (keep in mind Newton has played in more games)

    Completion %

Newton at 59.2, Wilson at 64.3

    TD'S/INTS?

Newton at 90/58, Wilson at 80/31

    QB rating for a career?

Newton at 85.3. Wilson at 98.3

Pretty obvious it's RW and really not all that close. But, ya can't blame Newton, we won't find any QB who stacks up to that after three seasons and seven games.

Vernon Davis? A little bit long in the tooth, but I can see a lot of guys wanting to spend their last years here trying to get a ring with what we're building. I wonder what we'd give up for him? Anything higher than a 5th would make me uncomfortable.
I think a 4th or 5th would be realistic. It would help us for sure with the two TE sets, both running and passing-wise.

I read on a site Chicago fans said they were willing to trade Jeffrey for a 2nd and Funchess

    I'd honestly rather grab Davis.

Our nig KK starting to get noticed by the national media:
The Carolina Panthers double-dipped at defensive tackle in the 2013 draft, selecting Star Lotulelei with the 14th overall pick, and then coming back to grab Kawann Short with their second round selection. So far, this has proven more successful than the last time they tried that tactic—selecting Terrell McClain and Sione Fua in the third round of the 2011 draft—but it is Short who is starting to dominate like a first-round stud.
Star Lotulelei was supposed to be a do-it-all player at the position. He could stuff the run and rush the passer, and reminded many of Haloti Ngata when he was coming out of the draft. Short, though, is the player who has transformed into that image this season; he may not have Ngata’s 340-pound frame, but he has been a force against the run and pass this season, and was a destructive monster against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.
Short notched a pair of sacks, but also had seven additional hurries and a batted pass. The Philadelphia offensive line, which had been righting its season up until this game, was torn apart by Short, who split his time between the left and right side of the line (44 snaps at DRT, 25 at DLT), and contributed to the negative pass-protecting grade from each of the interior starters.
When Jason Peters went down for the Eagles and forced a re-shuffle along the line with Dennis Kelly coming in, things got even worse, and Short ramped up the pressure.
The drops (a ridiculous eight in total) won’t help reflect it, but this was arguably Bradford’s best performance of the season, despite the pressure applied up front and the struggles of those around him. He put several good passes where they needed to go, despite heavy pressure for much of the game (24 of his 54 dropbacks). However, he was not rewarded by his receivers making plays.
While Short tore up the Eagles, oddly enough it is Star Lotulelei, the player that was supposed to become the next All-Pro interior defender, who is struggling to live up to his teammate as he works his way back from a foot injury. He has yet to knock the quarterback down, much less notch a sack, and has just three total hurries on the season from 97 pass-rushing snaps. His run defense has also been below his better play, and the Panthers are waiting to really see the player they expected when they drafted him.
Whichever way you look at it, Carolina’s second attempt at upgrading their defensive interior was a far more successful one than their first, and the combination of Lotulelei and Short looks to have netted the team one star player and one capable starter—just like they expected. The only difference is that it is Short who has emerged as the star, while Lotulelei plays in his shadow.
Short has now moved ahead of Aaron Donald and J.J. Watt in our interior defenders rankings, and has done so with excellent grades as a pass-rusher and defending the run. He gives the Panthers defensive stars at every level, with Josh Norman in the secondary, and linebackers Thomas Davis and Luke Kuechly also playing at an extremely high level. The team is now 6-0, one of five undefeated teams in the NFL, and has the kind of defense in place to compete come January.

Gettleman can draft his ass off, tbh

Panthers are a legitimately good teams. They win the games they're supposed to win. Mediocre teams (like the Raiders) will find ways to lose games they should win.

But even as panther fans you have to realize why people are skeptical of calling Carolina a "great" team or superbowl contender. Same reason why a lot of people here still doubt Cincinnati (though I'm more of a believer in them)

Nig... stop at least ting on our opponents this season though

5 undefeated teams remain. Their defeated opponents combined records:NE- (18-22)
    CAR- (15-26)
    CIN- (14-26)
    GB- (14-26)
    DEN- (13-26)

why are you in our thread just to on us week after week? no one is even having this conversation with you but you still come in every week as we keep winning to remind everyone unprompted you don't think we're a contender. odds your hater ass had us 6-0 through 6 games before the season: zero zero

we are the 2nd best team in the NFC, maybe the first best if we beat GB. That's a contender just like the '03-'05 panthers were contenders even if they never won the lombardi

you'll probably say only the packers and patriots are the real contenders, mainstream take bro

Carolina is not ever gonna go the falcons/colts route of making big trades or sending draft picks year after year to load up on skill position players. Gettleman will not. It may be the downfall of this team but it hasn't so far. Gettleman is always going to prioritize the offensive line and front seven. We're never gonna be drafting high enough again for a while to grab a guy like Amari Cooper, so it's all a crapshoot with later round guys going forward IMO. Gettleman will see some DT or DE his fat jew ass likes no doubt and load up again but he's pretty good at that.

IMO skill position players are overrated. Give me the stud OT over almost any WR coming out in any given year.

I don't think he's trolling, I think he loves himself some skill position guys. He sees Julio on one side and then Freeman and like most mainstream fans in their pants start riding teams weak in the trenches. Like last year when it was CAR@ATL to decide the division I laid down half a G on us because it was so apparent by then that Julio was worn to a nub like every year and their line was in shambles and that it would be a large victory. Somehow though all those guys and the Fal s are only averaging 0.6 more points than us a game

Mainstream media fans are just getting their first taste how potent the triumvirate of Norman, Luke, and KK are. Just need a couple more strong national television performances. If if if Delaire takes it to another level for the rest of the season, we will be in the superbowl. As it stands a merely mediocre pass rush instead of top 8 is our only missing piece...

Obviously we are going to lose soon. I would rather us take out Green Bay and lose to Washington or Tennessee than lose to GB.. but I would like us to at least get undefeated there.

Obviously getting Charles Johnson back will make us better, but honestly for his cap hit we don't need him anymore. Our defensive line is generating much pressure, and getting rid of him in the off-season will really help us bring in a marquee WR next year with the money we'll have.

I just can't envision Gettleman using the money to bring in a marquee WR. I think he thinks that he can develop Benjamin and Funchess well enough, and is going to want to use every last cent on making sure guys like KK/Star/Norman are inked. I think Gettleman's next big moves will be to find another pro-bowl caliber DE and Safety. Can't put all our eggs in one basket hoping Boston and Ealy pan out

Btw NLS... incredible how godly our inside 3 offensive lineman have become. What a ing turnaround from last year. The Norwell UDFA signing is probably in the top 3 moves Gettleman has made in his tenure.
