These threads usually peak by mid December and are nowhere to be found by mid February but it's nice to see Ginobili get off to a hot start.

Still carrying scrubs per par..Watch the train-wreck of PG play tomorrow should Pop sits him out vs the Knicks..
in '13/14 Manu started like this and we all know how it ended, tbh.
Should be our closing PG.
I thought of this after the opener vs OKC. I know Manu is suppossed to have a lesser role now and play less and blah, blah blah. But there's no reason for him to be on the bench at the end of games if he's playing well, just because. If Manu is playing well he should be a no brainer to close the games, he just offers you too much on both sides od the ball. You can then choose from TP, Mills and (as you are proposing and I also think would be a very interesting idea) Green to accompany him.
Manu's numbers this year:
12.0 ppg/4.3 rpg/4.6 apg/2 spg on 60.5 TS%
Crazy good production for a 38 year old. At $2.8 million, Manu's seriously underpaid right now. It's awesome he took the paycut so the team could have cap flexibility to sign LMA though. Very unselfish and a team player through and through. '
Meanwhile, our starting point guard is making $13.4 million this season(more than Steph Curry) while giving us Mario Chalmers tier production:
8.6 ppg/2.6 apg/2.6 apg/ on 52.0 TS%
Worst contract in the NBA.
tp contract is not close to the worse contraction the nba
the point guard in the nba does not get the assist others do because they do not count hockey assist
manu is not underpaid he was overpaid in the past
tp is overpaid but can not change his contract every post you talk about it
spurs usually do not over pay they did they will learn from it but spurs would be better eating it and not trade for a worse contract and package another player with it
if manu playing well maybe but he is turnover prone some in closing minutes
he is a clutch shooter though
Yup, just when he is playing well. In the OKC game he was having a great game and Pop kept him on the bench at the end just because that's what he was supossed to do this season, that's ridiculous. If Manu is playing well he should be a lock to finish games, if not sit his old ass down. Simple as that.
I'm not surprised. People are too quick to write off great, high IQ players, that haven't had career altering injuries.
Best PG/playmaker of the team..I have a feeling that this team will be needing Manu like it did in the Mavericks series in 2014 but for the whole playoffs..It is sad state of affairs, really...
Hall of Famer doing what Hall of Famers do.
Yep. Jason Kidd was written off I do recall.
3rd best Spur of all-time after Duncan and Robinson. These three legends all aged well - combination of high bball IQ and a great work ethic.
Hopefully Kawhi goes down that path too.
Yeah, Parker's a lost cause on that front. Hopefully, Kawhi follows the example set forth by TD and Manu.
We'll have to bump the thread before too long honestly... Manu looks great and is due for one of those 5/7 from three, 5/6 from the line, 8/13 FG, 7 assist type of games tbh
TO BE REALLY ING HONEST.
Get back Manu, basketball is a lot uglier without you.
Especially on the road, tbh... at home some of our guys play better, get some home cooking, but battling on the road is a different story... leadership really lacking in that 2nd unit tonight...
Still the Spurs heart and soul and (co) captain in ing soon to be 2016..
Folks saying Manu was already done for the season.![]()
