Why don't we just call some more left block post-ups for Aldridge? We can go entire quarters without calling the favourite play of our star free agency sign.
Because Timmy camps there. He grabs position early. I saw one play where coming in from transition Timmy went there and grabbed position, Lamarcus was trailing the play and intended to go there, but saw Tim was already there. There is some bumping going on. I don't think Tim intends it, probably just muscle memory. Lamarcus has been relegated to the top or right side. Unless they call plays for him, or he beats Tim to the spot.

I was surprised Pop kept Diaw until the end, instead of subbing West in. That was weird. Timmy getting 35 minutes, that is West's minutes right there... hmmmm
Well, it looks like there is a lot more concern about whether West can fit in with the team's system than there is for LMA. Still, after how much of a paycut he took to play for us, I hope he can grow to be more than a garbage time player for us. He did ok in the limited time he had tonight.

Then Pop has to do a better job at remebering his players not to forget about Aldridge.

It's very early in the season but so far I still feel there's a gaping hole/void left where Belineli (his shooting/cutting) would be incredibly useful. Anderson just seems like a waste out there and Butler is hardly used. I fear an over-reliance on Patty and Manu this season.

Cleveland won that game in OT
I didn't recall the outcome, just Smith's uber-bone-headed plays down the stretch.

You were asking yesterday about a Spurs post game show. Just wanted to let you know that Spurs game night react is on now. I am listening to it on the I heart radio app but you should be able to get it on woai.com also.

Butler is good enough to replace Belinelli. He just needs more of a chance.

Well you have been reaching after 4 games in saying Butler and Anderson are wastes. Neither of them has played much because the rest of the rotation, the real guys that need to play well (and WEst) have really been keeping these games close and have gelling issues of their own. Butler can shoot and has been good in limited minutes, but he's no Marco. Kyle has a lot of potential but he has a different game. He has gotten as few chances as Butler.

I believe eventually one of these two, or both will turn out well enough, but right now Pop is keeping a very tight rotation, and even a tight leash with his guys, so we haven't seen them much.

Yeah, while I don't feel like Butler is QUITE the versatile shooter Beli is...I definitely think he is more athletic and can cut and shoot near par with Marco but more importantly DEFEND miles better. I just wish Pop would play him more. Feel as though he's forcing Anderson onto the court because of his upside but I just don't think he fits as he's just not good enough OFF the ball and he's still not a good enough shooter.

Butler might not be as "versatile of a shooter" but his percentage is at least as comparable, and his defense is leagues better...

I think we can get some good trade value off Anderson, possibly a backup bigman who's 7 feet instead of 6'7" or 7'4".

It's not like Rotoworld staff writers have any pull but FWIW, they just mentioned Kawhi as a legit MVP candidate this season who has "no ceiling".

Cars in point - tonight's lackadaisical third quater kept Knicks in the game so our big guns had to play more minutes than I am sure Pop wanted.

Too true! But I am already interested and n seeing more of Boban, which would undoubtedly come at West's expense. He did look better in his brief time tonight.

I think everyone is overestimating Butler defensively, bc not once did we see him play the 3 during preseason even when you really experiment with guys. I mean Pop played Jimmer, Deshaun Thomas, a whole bunch of real non-NBA level talent in preseason, and not once did we see Butler at the 3.

It may not seem it, perhaps because we have seen him so little, but Butler is not really what everyone thinks he is in the perimeter, he will get blown by easily, and doesn't fight through screens as well anymore. Pop is not running a charity, if Anderson is called upon to defend on the perimeter is bc he has done a better job at it than Butler. Regardless, I feel like both can contribute. Anderson has a different game, and is being developed for the future. He needs playing time to improve. He's at the point where you really can't expect him to have a groove offensively when his game involves passing and being selective with his shots involving his teammates, but he has played but a minute here or there. But right now there are more important issues with the team than his development, so he has to keep pounding the rock and hope that when his time comes he's ready. And his time will come, bc we are not playing Manu 82 games 20-24 minutes.

Butler and West were sitting together and talked all game. They looked pretty tight. Have they been on the same team before?

I know a lot of you guys are hyping up Boban, but I do not want to see him sniffing so much as a second against ultra-athletic teams like the Thunder, Dubs, Cavs, and Rockets. Out of those teams, West can definitely have an impact against the Cavs, Rockets, and especially the Dubs...but perhaps not the Thunder.
