So Texas fires their coach that they took a chance on that had no powerhouse program head coaching experience to take a chance on another coach that has no powerhouse program head coaching experience. Seems legit.

Knows how to recruit Texas. And just as importantly knows how to surround himself with a staff that can recruit. Unlike Strong who needs training wheels to find a competent staff. Then you have Herman winning with a former Wide Receiver at QB.

Not only does Herman have U of H on the national scene in his first year (undefeated, will be ranked in the top 15 soon, after the last few years the school being a joke", he is keeping a lot of Houston's good players in Houston. Selling then on playing at a commuter school, in third ward, with a football program with a lack of overall success in the past. That program was in the ing dumps the last few years. He has revived them.

No he hasn't.

He has one great player committed, and a few guys that teams like Tech would have recruited. The rest are the same spares that Houston/SMU/Rice usually get. He doesn't have a single guy I'd take outside of Oliver.

Hugh falls into that morally ambiguous area much like Chip Kelly. I'm not saying he cheats, but that's the perception.

He coaches at UH. Let not act like he's running a powerhouse. This Tom Herman has got to stop. There are about 30 coaches who will get a call before they get that desperate. Charlie Strong's pedigree is infinitely better and he got the coordinator diss from Red.

Houston might not be a powerhouse now but neither is Texas. Back in the days of the veer they gave Roual some tough games. Herman's first year is a lot better than Strong's. As for as the opposition they both played what was scheduled by someone else.

Sure. Herman will do well at Houston and get a p5 job. He's just not going to do it at Texas, even if Strong is fired after next season. They're not going to hire a noob if Charlie doesn't work because they will have just made that mistake.

First, I'd be shocked if Denzel Okafor commits to TCU. Latest I've heard this morning is that he has all but told Texas he is going to be a Longhorn. Figured this was coming for several weeks and person I spoke with didn't know when he'd commit but unless something crazy happens, it won't be TCU.

Person I spoke with said Denzel understands what's going on at Texas and said it didn't matter if Strong was fired or not.

Not sure what led to the big change...if you would've asked in June where Denzel was headed I would've told you TCU 10/10 times. Even Texas people were hearing TCU.

I know TCU recruited him hard ($#@!bie was on it). They offered first too.

Maybe Denzel just wants a big school; he told me a few weeks ago that he feels he'd fit in better at a large public school instead of a private one.
