Lol looks like he is turning UH into a powerhouse. In his first year.

Lol powerhouse.
It's a good thing the teams they've played are a combined 18-47.

Knows how to recruit Texas. And just as importantly knows how to surround himself with a staff that can recruit. Unlike Strong who needs training wheels to find a competent staff. Then you have Herman winning with a former Wide Receiver at QB.![]()
Oh yeah, and made Cardale Jones look like a decent quarterback while winning a championship.
Urban Meyer had nothing to do with that.
No he hasn't.
He has one great player committed, and a few guys that teams like Tech would have recruited. The rest are the same spares that Houston/SMU/Rice usually get. He doesn't have a single guy I'd take outside of Oliver.
Charlie isn't going to Miami.
Kliff would be an expensive buyout and hasn't really done anything yet as a HC.
I'd want Hugh Freeze if I was longhorn fan.
Hugh falls into that morally ambiguous area much like Chip Kelly. I'm not saying he cheats, but that's the perception.
Yeah true. I think it's getting harder and harder to find winners that don't have some moral issues.
Yes it is. I bet Tom Herman doesn't cheat.
It's amazing how he can't pick a lane. It's all Strong's fault Texas is not winning, but he gives the coordinator credit for the championship OSU won.
And yes...turning Houston into a powerhouse. I can't believe he ing typed that and hit reply. Beating up on SMU, Texas State and Tulsa just screams nationwide domination.
Houston might not be a powerhouse now but neither is Texas. Back in the days of the veer they gave Roual some tough games. Herman's first year is a lot better than Strong's. As for as the opposition they both played what was scheduled by someone else.
Some other visitors:
2016
WR, Reggie Hemphill, Manvel
LB, Dontavious Jackson, Alief Elsik
S, Chris Brown, Alief Elsik
2017
S, Derrick Tucker, Manvel
2018
S, Jalen Preston, Manvel
How has Cardale Jones done since he left?![]()
It's funny Strong's genital wart nuthuggers like to on Herman's first year going undefeated so far, while Strong went 7-6 in his first year at Louisville with a similar ing schedule![]()
You need a coach who knows Texas and can recruit it. Especially recruit well in Houston.
Herman to Ohio State.
Herman will get a gig at a bigger better school just like Briles and Sumlin sooner than later.
But UT won't get him. They're gonna stick with Strong long enough that he'll be gone when they finally fire Charlie.
more so, you need coordinators that can coach and recruit Texas kids that have a bunch of stars and can fit your system.
Sure. Herman will do well at Houston and get a p5 job. He's just not going to do it at Texas, even if Strong is fired after next season. They're not going to hire a noob if Charlie doesn't work because they will have just made that mistake.
Horn Frog 247 guy on Denzel
First, I'd be shocked if Denzel Okafor commits to TCU. Latest I've heard this morning is that he has all but told Texas he is going to be a Longhorn. Figured this was coming for several weeks and person I spoke with didn't know when he'd commit but unless something crazy happens, it won't be TCU.
Person I spoke with said Denzel understands what's going on at Texas and said it didn't matter if Strong was fired or not.
Not sure what led to the big change...if you would've asked in June where Denzel was headed I would've told you TCU 10/10 times. Even Texas people were hearing TCU.
I know TCU recruited him hard ($#@!bie was on it). They offered first too.
Maybe Denzel just wants a big school; he told me a few weeks ago that he feels he'd fit in better at a large public school instead of a private one.
