Clippers do have a solid 7-man rotation, but it's definitely not good enough to take them the distance.

Our biggest issue is having no dribble-drive perimeter scoring threat. Parker can't do it anymore, and Kawhi lacks the handles and vertical to really ever be a great finisher at the rim. He's nice in the post, but I don't know if you can build your offense around wings in the post anymore. Defenses are too fast.

    Love our defense, though.
Spurs have a lot of flaws, overall:

    - No penetrator, like you said
    - Parker on defense
    - Only 2 shooters on the team, and they're both really streaky
    - The team still goes through long stretches where they forget Kawhi

In theory, they have things going for them in the matchup(Warriors have no answer for Leonard, Spurs have wings to cover theirs, and all of Diaw/Duncan/Aldridge can punish them down low if they go small)..that's just in theory and on paper, though..the current offensive system would get destroyed in a matchup..

This is just another typical Clippers national-TV loss in progress. Bursts of false hope, followed by absolutely boneheaded plays, and of course, liberal amounts of suckitude from the bench.

    What?

You can't compare Chris Paul's overall game to Tony Parker's.

Go look up Charles Barkley's "big games" on BBREF or something. When you try to talk basketball, you embarrass yourself.

We have to have a rebounding and rim protection answer for the second unit. I honestly believe a playoff bump in Ginos minutes plus Butler will be enough to ring the bell against GSW. but we absolutely, under NO cir stance can afford to give GSW second-chance points. it will kill us if their shooting doesnt.

Hopefully Manu can stay healthy (or at least his legs) and Butler integrates into the system well. That could take care of the shooting issue and penetration issue (to an extent). The other two are very much reliant on Pop benching Porker when he's being a cancer, and unfortunately hindsight has shown us he's unwilling to do so.

Spurs and Thunder could challenge them, in theory, but both teams have a lot to work on to get to that point, tbh..the current Spurs' ISO-ball would get swept by GS, same with OKC and their non-existent defense..
OKC has no perimeter defenders & Kanter would get flambeed by Curry on PnRs. Kawhi can at least shut Klay down & LMA has shown the ability to go nuclear in a postseason series. Plus, Danny can check Curry as well as anybody in the league. It would be a battle of the benches so Manu/Patty/Diaw have to play like it's 2014 but would need Boban to be a rotation player to matchup w/ Ezeli

OKC is the most overrated team in the West IMO(nowhere near the Bulls, overall, though), been saying it since the off-season, but I included them since they do have 2 superstar players, which can't be ignored in a series..I don't think they would take more than 1 game vs. GS, though..their defense is atrocious, and their offense looks the same as it did with Brooks..

Chris Paul doesn't need to be a "penetrator" who finishes at the rim because he shoots 52% from 10-16 and 49% from 16 feet and beyond (last year's numbers). That's a huge, huge advantage for a PG to have since he can avoid shotblocking at the rim by pulling up for 12 foot jumpers and the like. No PG in the league does that better than Paul. He still "penetrates" without having to challenge shotblockers at the rim.

Last year, Parker shot 42% from 10-16 and 41% from 16 feet and beyond. His in between game is mediocre, and now that his speed and athleticism aren't what they used to be, he's no longer the penetrator and finisher he was. His 0-3foot percentage dropped by from about .660 to .600 over the last 2 years.

Parker's whole offensive game now revolves around that 18 foot jumper off a curl. Paul is a complete offensive guard.

Once again, you embarrass yourself like the Suns have embarrassed Phoenix for the past 50 years.

WTF are you talking about? You need to go back and re-read the thread, cupcake.

All I said is Chris Paul's first half alone makes everything ClipperNation posts complete dog- . That doesnt mean Im defending Tony Parker (who is also dog- ).

Between you can ClipperNation its a daily stupid contest around here.

I love how you think a 6 game sample size is conclusive enough to say Klay has regressed!

Everybody is even better than last year! Stephen, Harrison, Klay, Draymond, and even the vets!
Klay is a role player ala Re anyways so it's not a big deal

Nice backtrack. When I said that the Spurs lack a dribble-drive penetrator to do damage against the Warriors (or any other team), you replied by telling me to watch what Chris Paul is doing against the Warriors, which I took as you implying that Tony Parker could also perform that well against the Warriors (which he historically has when he was younger).

If you don't want to be misread, try elaborating more. Like when I tell you Charles Barkley is choker. I don't just say he's a choker and leave it at that. I actually tell you why he's a choker.

    Elaboration.
