Kobe raised his season average with a stellar performance tonight (4/11 from the field, 1/5 from 3). Kobe's FG% is now 32.3%

Pretty bad when 4/11 actually RAISES your percentage.

And yet despite all this, he'll still get voted in as an All-Star starter.

    Sad.

As sad as it is to see him like this I'm selfishly hoping he has a decent game(by his standards) so Byron will keep him him in the starting line up

^^^ within the BSPN article Mori Chu posted are Bryant with the words "Hard to shoot after sitting for 30 minutes" -paraphrase regarding a couple of his trey airballs. Effectively blaming Scott.

So same old bull blame everyone else but himself.
Surely cuck Scott will keep starting him.
Plenty more Kirbs highlights to come.

Kobe is one of the greatest players ever but he is done as a go to scorer. Needs to take a roll coming off the bench on a contender next year laying 10-15 mpg and play off ball.
Players like him want to stay on top because of compe ive nature and it's hard to take a lesser role, when it's obvious he needs to let the youngins step up now and take a lesser role.

Kobe's actually shooting the ball just fine inside the arc, 45.5 percent which is better than last season. His 20.7 % shooting beyond the arc is what's killing his percentage. He wont stay at 20% eventually he'll catch a nice streak and bring it up to respectable levels. Key of course is health.

he shot 40% from 2 last year... you magically expect his 3 pointers to climb but dont expect the 2s to regress. how convenient

Brah, obviously he has to work really hard to get his shot off inside the arc that's why he's settling for so many threes. He has no lift and has to throw about 10 pump fakes before getting his shot off...up the volume on them and those 2 PT FGs will quickly go sub 40% as well.

You magically ignore other factors like his usage rate and FGA which has dropped? how convenient?

Kobe's game is hard to predict even at this point of his career so it's hard to make any projections since he's an emotionally invested player which is one of the reasons analytics hates him. He certainly needs to take a back seat and there's a good indication this season could finally be it.

I wasn't suggesting we'll see an incremental e but rather pointing out he probably won't stay at 20% beyond the arc, unless another season ending injury stops his season short. His usage rate (so far) is already at it's lowest for the past 15 years and this is with him crazily jacking up shots at an unprecedented rate beyond the 3 pt line. He ranks fourth among touches per minute in his team and if restrictions remains the same, it's not a wild idea to think Kobe can actually bring his percentages at a more respective level, given his cir stances.

Logically, this makes the most sense but like I said it's difficult to make an accurate projection on someone who dictates his game plan based on emotions...

Kobe off to a solid 0-4 start. Do you guys think he could manage to get below 30%. I mean honestly I never would of thought that was possible, but he has been ing atrocious and continues to chuck up awful shots.
