Years ago, I believed this would happen(midnightpulp remembers, this was back in like 2011), tbh..I thought it was obvious that the progression of advanced stats and new media would hurt the perception of his career, to an extent..
However, I never thought it would be this bad, since I didn't expect his game to deteriorate this badly..I've never seen a legendary player in any sport get ridiculed this severely, people are just ting all over him, everywhere..
If he had retired after making the 2 free throws following the tear of his Achilles, it would have been remembered fondly forever, perfect way to end his career, no harm done..it would have been the last image we would have had of Kobe, could have concluded his career as a warrior that wanted to stay on the floor, despite the injury..instead, we have a clown figure that can't shoot over 35% from the field, and is still taking 20 shots on the worst team in the NBA..smh..
