Let's start a winning streak against the Charlotte Jordans.![]()
The Spurs will play the CharL3tTe s, er, I mean the Charlotte Hornets, on Saturday the 7th, at the AT&T Ctr, tipoff set for 7:30 pm central. Anybody want to say anything about this upcoming game, post away!
The Hornets' roster, as listed on their official website, is:
Nicholas Batum, forward, #5
Troy Daniels, guard, #30
PJ Hairston, guard-forward, #19
Tyler Hansbrough, forward, #50
Aaron Harrison, guard, #9
Spencer Hawes, forward-center, #00
Al Jefferson, center, #25
Frank Kaminsky, center, #44
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, forward, #14
Jeremy Lamb, guard, #3
Jeremy Lin, guard, #7
Brian Roberts, guard, #22
Kemba Walker, guard, #15
Marvin Williams, forward, #2
Cody Zeller, forward-center, #40
Head coach, Steve Clifford. Associate head coach, Patrick Ewing.
The Hornets have two wins, and three losses. At the start of the season they lost to the Heat, and to the Hawks, twice, but in their last two games they have beaten the Bulls, in Chicago, and beaten the Mavericks, at home.
Against the Mavericks, Al Jefferson had 31 points.
The Hornets were 33 - 49 last year, and did not qualify for the playoffs.
In general, their organization's greatest asset is the Honey Bees, who provide something to watch, when the team isn't worth watching, which is most of the time.
Let's start a winning streak against the Charlotte Jordans.![]()
Kemba Walker is going to murder Rique.
Spurs first matchup against Frank the tank.
You can't go 2 posts in a row without talking about Parker...
Big Al has been on fire and will need to be kept in check!
Batum will be an interesting Free Agent next summer... he's been playing a kind of point forward for the Hornets this season, averaging 4.4 apg. He'd be an intriguing replacement if Manu retires next season...
I had forgotten that Batum is now a Hornet
He's a terrific passer. He was the best passer in the SL in Portland when LMA was there.
He is not a bench player though and plays the same position as Kawhi and will be paid very handsomely I bet specially if he has a good season with Charlotte this year.
This will be a tough game. Jefferson has Tim's number the past few years. Batum is a Spur killer. And Porker won't be able to stay infront of Kemba. They have to set the tone early or it's going to be a ugly game.
Batum will never be an adequate Manu replacement. He's one of the biggest playoff chokers in the league. He'd be an expensive addition that wouldn't bring anything besides regular season wins. We already have one overpaid, French choke artist. We don't need another.
This game has the potential to be tough. Hopefully the Spurs are motivated by the home crowd along with their lose Wednesday with and make this a blowout.
After a slow start Charlotte won convincingly in Chicago and Dallas ... so taking this team lightly will end in a disaster.
Didn't you make the same threads against OKC and WAS?
Batum hasn't been a Spurs killer in years.
Spurs got this one at home.![]()
Charlotte is also launching 3s at a higher rate than they have in the past, and this season they have guys who can hit a 3. If they get hot from 3, it could be a problem. Having to come out to contest Kaminsky shots from 3 is going to be a test. I guess Diaw is the only big really good at that.
This is the perfect game for Danny to get hot and increase his shooting %.
Yeah, still waiting for Danny to start hitting his shots
Need to win the bench battle...Hornets Bench always comes in shooting.
