TBH Boban and Anderson have owned teams. They have good chemistry. Anderson is more perimeter based than Diaw. Boban compensates for a lot on paint defense, and Kyle provides a lot of creativity from the 4. I like these two. I pretty much like Anderson as a 4 with TD and LMA as well, but of all the combos Boban has paired up with, he has the best chemistry with Anderson.
Yeah I really like the SLO-BAN pairing.

Im also concerned about his foot. Hope the med team takes good care of it

I agree. I like this pairing.

And visually to see the 6-9 Kyle as the ball handler and 7-3 Boban in the paint, it looks like our players our on another scale than the opponents. There will be some serious size mismatches in our favor when we play these two together.

IMHO, the SLO-BAN combo will work if they are surrounded by fast/athletic players, who are willing to work 110% in defense covering more ground than usual. For that i think Mills/McCallum, Green, and Simmons will be the best fit for them.

Eh, I don't think they'll need people to cover more ground for them necessarily. Really the only concern is transition defense I suppose.

    Sabonis holding that form
Ridiculous.... more ridiculous than Manu walking back after that pass to Duncan.

Boban improved drastically over the course of the preseason. He footing and positioning of the PnR on D was like night and day. He has learned to square up and keep his balance so that he can move in either direction to stop any penetration to the basket and at the very least to shadow the guard/forward off the pick. He stopped like 5-6 penetration attempts in the 4th against the Rockets where the rockets player had to pass back out to the perimeter.

And the thing that impressed me the most, the Spurs completely dominating Houston when they started to play off of Boban in the 4th. His passing is almost and if not as good as Splitter. He had a couple of TO but the one on the Offensive rebound, he was waiting for Simmons to cut to the middle of the paint (as no one was guarding it) and Simmons just stood at the 3 point line and Boban had to pass out or get a 3 second violation.

This was the best the Spurs 3rd unit look all preseason. Looks like most of these guys benefited from watching film of past games where they made a ton of mistakes.

When I first saw Boban's highlights, I was impressed by his quickness around the basket, his good offensive footwork and what appeared to be great bb IQ. I wasn't really looking at the how many dunks or shots he made. I saw "lumbering" not so much "slow" running up and down the court. While Aldridge and West are the higher profile pickups, I believe Marjanovic is going to be the surprise of this year's Spurs.

Boban has a lot of potential TBH and has been impressive at times. It is true that in the Houston game it was against third stringers. In the SAC game though, he went against Cousins, Koufus, and Willie Cauley-Stein. Willie's agility an athleticism in particular threw him off but otherwise he was excellent. The other games are harder to read, against Atlanta, he struggled, but to be fair Coach Bud is an excellent coach, and he had his best lineups out there with all his all-stars playing, and they were collapsing on the paint hard. No one in the group he was with could make an outside shot. I think you are a Jimmer fan, but he was cold, got his shot blocked this game (ATL) then there was Deshaun Thomas as well. It was a learning experience for him. Against Miami Boban struggled, but he came back to the Detroit game with a mind to rebound and finish hard around the basket and he achieved it against Drummond and Baynes and whoever was out there.

I like him. He's adjusting rather quick. The lineups where he is with Anderson are a joy to watch, bc Anderson enjoys setting others up for shots, and in other lineups he's a cog in the machine, but when he's with Boban he's more aggressive and looks to set up the big fella. They have developed a lot of chemistry and could end up being a pleasant surprise this season. Maybe I am daydreaming, but I see the potential in this pairing.

Love this signing great pickup for the Spurs. Only thing he needs to fix ASAP as an earlier poster posted is setting up screens. It should be pretty easy to fix.

One game he will look great and the next he will be horrible. The way the playoffs are now, you have to wonder if he will pay any dividends at that point. He might just be a regular season guy who gives people some needed rest.

I'm really wondering about that. Maybe he's so tall when he makes the screen standing straight up, that the defender might just run into his legs and not his body.

He also needs to stop camping out in the lane. I'm absolutely amazed that he hasn't been hit for more 3-second violations...I've noticed several that the refs somehow missed, but they are in preseason mode, too, so that is very likely to change.

Also very fixable, but hopefully it doesn't take too many whistles for him to realize it.

Amazing we got him without having to draft him. Good scouting plus a rapidly improving player plus Pop's Serbian connections equals a great addition.

This was one of the few times I saw him get outplayed in garbage time. Kaminski pretty much got whatever he wanted against Boban.

Wow lmao. What an expression. Psycho T definitely has a funny look to him, even more so when he's impressed/scared of someone's size.

I kinda expected a stretch 4 or 5 would give him trouble.

Still has the worst hands in the league, lol. But Baynes semi-fixed that issue, so I'm hopeful for the best.

Boban Marjanovic’s daily devotion to becoming a better player has made a positive impression on his teammates. “He’s a tremendously hard worker,” Spurs guard Patty Mills said. “High work ethic, always…whether it’s in the weight room or on the court.” But there’s something else about the 7-foot-3 Serbian that has caught the attention of his teammates. “He loves to sing. He loves to rap,” Mills said. “That’s my little inside scoop on him.” Rap? Really? “Yeah…and with a Serbian accent, which makes it even better,” Mills said. “In English…I think it’s English.” Whether Marjanovic can carry a tune is irrelevant. The point is, the big man is fitting in nicely in the locker room. “He’s a really, really genuine nice guy,” Mills said. “…He loves to crack a joke all the time – some are really funny, some you got to laugh at to make him feel good.”
