Spurs would have kept Jimmer if he wanted to toil away in the d-league til a spot opened. Rather, they allowed him to pursue teams with openings on their rosters.

I'm pretty sure if the Spurs liked Jimmer at all, he'd be in Austin. They literally chose not to have him. The way the Toros' roster is shaping up, he would have been a fit. They just didn't want him.

He caught a break because Gentry likes the 3. It's his chance to be shooting. I don't like him personally, he didn't show anything while he was here, but I wish him the best and maybe he can help the Pelicans, they are in deep trouble at this point. Not that Jimmer is going to save them, but if there was ever a time to be shooting the 3 well to revive his career, this is probably it.

Obviously, he is a fringe NBA player. But given Spurs history, he's the kind of player that we will be below average until he plays the Spurs and lights them up.

That's sort of out of leftfield. Goes to show that Jimmer did make a good impression in NOL despite some of his struggles (and despite one former anonymous coach taking his pot shots). I said all along that Monty was jerking him around a bit.

I have mixed feelings about this. Not sure that NOL is the best fit; and I was looking forward to seeing Jimmer play as a Knickerbocker at MSG in a homecoming. But Jimmer's record of playing in zero d-league games still stands at least.
