Dallas Cowboys need better CB's......Coverage is awful....

  2. #3002
no, they don't control their destiny, not at all

Eagles have to lose another one, Giants have to lose 2 more... both still play the Pats, count those as losses so the Giants still would have to lose another...and their schedule is really easy to end the season. Tank tank tank sell the franchise etc
Now your a Panthers fan?....Cowboys,falcons,back to cowboys and now Panthers lol.......

Dallas Cowboys need better CB's......Coverage is awful....
This. Front 7 is amazing, so the Cowboys have to make sure they keep them all on the team this offseason, they need a chance with a better secondary and healthy Romo. Hardy & McClain are free agents once again, unfortunately.

I'll go down the list of Cowboys' FAs this offseason, in alphabetical order, and their likely futures:

    - Mac Bernadeau (OL): is pretty expendable given the OL situation; re-signs for cheap or walks
    - Morris Claiborne (DB): GTFOs
    - Tyler Clutts (FB/TE): is a decent blocker but very much replaceable; re-signs for cheap or walks
    - Jack Crawford (NT): expendable; re-signs for cheap or walks
    - Lance Dunbar (RB/WR/KR): this is interesting; given his growth in offense and special teams he'd likely get a pretty decent sized offer from a bad team, but his injury just *might* have spared the Cowboys of losing him due to salary issues.
    - Ka'Lail Glaud (LB): Who?
    - James Hanna (TE/FB): Is a good blocker, can likely be retained for pretty cheap because he's relatively unknown around the league. If he walks, it's not a big deal.
    - Greg Hardy (DE): is priority #1 for re-signing purposes. Baggage greatly lowers his market value which is a true blessing for the Cowboys.
    - Nick Hayden (NT): is expendable because of David Irving's progress; re-signs for cheap or walks
    - Jeff Heath (DB): is a RFA, but he's not that good, so he re-signs for cheap or walks
    - Ronald Leary (OL): is a RFA, may be allowed to walk because Jerruh views him as expendable due to the emergence of Collins. Depends on what offers he gets; never hurts to have depth at OL though.
    - Rolando McClain (LB): is priority #2 for re-signing purposes, will likely be retained unless some bad team decides to s out in spite of his baggage
    - Danny McCray: Who? Isn't very good and will likely be gone.
    - Jeremy Mincey (DE): is the 4th best edge rusher on the team, so it's unlikely they s out for a decent backup if someone else makes him a bigger offer. If he can be kept for a similar contract as his current one, keep him.
    - Brandon Weeden (QB): GTFOs
    - Corey White (DB): isn't great and is likely expendable; will likely re-sign for cheap or walk
    - Kyle Wilber (LB): is a career backup; re-signs for cheap or walks

Cliffnotes: re-sign Hardy, McClain as top priorities and must be retained; Dunbar, Leary and Mincey are second priorities such that the Cowboys should attempt to retain them given the right price, but they wouldn't be heartbroken if one or two of them left. In terms of the draft, they should look to draft a top wide receiver (possibly with the high first-round pick), two solid secondary players, and hopefully a running back and a backup quarterback (or trade a mid to lower pick for a promising young backup QB on a team with a stable QB situation). Ultimately, they are a very promising team whose 2015 season was shot down at the beginning by major injuries before it was allowed to develop. The defensive secondary situation, unfortunately, is still a pretty big liability despite Byron Jones's emergence. The Cowboys will get Scandrick back this offseason and look to build around Jones and Scandrick going forward. Claiborne will likely be jettisoned and Carr's contract still hurts, but drafting a corner and a safety early in the draft will go a long way to giving the defensive line the necessary time it takes to rush the passer without them never having the chance to get home due to enemy receivers constantly scorching the secondary in the passing game.

    blessing in disguise?
All the Hardy baggage is a blessing in half-disguise because it allows the Cowboys to play chess and back him up under the condition he'll take a long term salary with the Cowboys more in line with his starting peers on the D-front instead of demanding a 7 year 80+ million dollar deal, which the Cowboys likely would be unable or unwilling to afford.

Cowboys have had a chance to win every game except the pats game.....Even with a backup QB Cowboys had plenty of chances to win.....Cowboys just haven't had any luck....You never know Cowboys can still make the play offs....I know its wishful thinking but anything can happen Cowboys just need to get a win to break the bad luck....Anything can happen in the Cowboys weak Division.....No one scares me in the cowboys Division...Giants...nope....Eagles lol...not even close....Redskins....eh maybe....

They should start with a new head coach. Injury riddled seasons like these expose coaching. Garrett has done nothing but clap on the sidelines and talk about his bull "process" after the games.

    - Mac Bernadeau (OL): GTFO
    - Morris Claiborne (DB): DEFINITELY GTFO.. ing bust
    - Tyler Clutts (FB/TE): replaceable
    - Jack Crawford (NT): replaceable
    - Lance Dunbar (RB/WR/KR): will probably get an offer elsewhere the Cowboys aren't going to want to match
    - Ka'Lail Glaud (LB): GTFO
    - James Hanna (TE/FB): Replaceable
    - Greg Hardy (DE): Not worth keeping if he's going to be a problem
    - Nick Hayden (NT): GTFO, need someone who does more than holds his ground
    - Jeff Heath (DB): Heath is ing trash
    - Ronald Leary (OL): Solid backup if cheap
    - Rolando McClain (LB): His game has taken a dive off a cliff so far this year
    - Danny McCray: McCray is a top 3 player on ST.. Keep if cheap again
    - Jeremy Mincey (DE): Mincey has been solid, keep for depth if cheap
    - Brandon Weeden (QB): Somebody blow this losers head off.. GTFO
    - Corey White (DB): GTFO
    - Kyle Wilber (LB): GTFO
And coverage ain't gonna be too bad if they can draft a contributor somewhere in the middle of the draft this offseason.. Scandrick and Byron Jones are a solid start, especially Jones being able to play all over the field.

They should let Hardy be the head coach. He's a leader.
Might as well.. he's more alpha than the head coach that's for sure.

That exposes a problem with the training staff.. This has been a long time problem with the Cowboys, two seasons ago they led the league in hamstring injuries.. And yes, Garrett is beyond worthless. I ing hate seeing his stupid ass ing red hair and lack of anger on the sidelines.. You're right, all he does is clap. Might as well replace him with Richard Simmons, I'm sure he would be a much better motivational speaker.

We have enough money to keep Hardy, McClain can be retained for cheap, and we can probably keep one of Leary or Dunbar, but the other one is going to get paid elsewhere. Don't know about Mincey yet.

Without an experienced MLB like him, Lee has to play MLB and suffers worse injuries than the occasional concussion.

he took out hitchens too immediately after. he is playing terribly so far this year, no reason to defend him.

He's only played in the last 4 out of 8 games and got the first sack of the game against Brady. Give him time.

pretty much out of time. he's decimating our LB depth and contributing very little. These are things we know.
