I would think there is a litany of crap that was ignored. The specifics are not at all clear.
As for the Ferguson incident that I see mentioned from a PR perspective: NEVER use Brown as some sort of heroic historic martyr, this is just stupid, and I do see this written here and there. If one can talk about the issues Ferguson has had, without making this guy a hero, it is preferable.
I don't like it either. But goddamn, dude, you act like THIS is the biggest problem facing impressionable college students. Protesting on questionable grounds ranks as roughly #400 on the list of things I'd be concerned about my kids doing in college.
The thing is, it's okay to read these articles and not have an opinion. None of us knows what it's like to be a black student on that campus. But several thousand people closer to the issue than us felt strongly enough about it to make pretty significant statements about it and it resulted in leadership resigning. So maybe there's something to it. We don't have to agree with it. It just happened.

But specifics are really nice. Tell a story, something, don't leave me hanging. Can't find much. Yet anyways. Having that many people back it tells me it's probably legit. And the pres. leaving so abruptly without what appears to be much of a denial is certainly interesting.
The, "you don't know what it's like", is unsatisfactory. Tell the story and let people (who are supposed to be empathetic unlike other animals) have a chance to grasp the situation. Saying one can't grasp is an end game. Time will tell I guess.
