Beno could fill a need for a true backup PG for the Spurs. Not that he would start or take minutes from Patty, but sometimes you need a guy who can get the assist and hit the jump shot.

Boston pulled the same ; Grizz took on 13+ mil of salary in the Courtney Lee trade and, sure enough, the Grizz were the team sending out draft picks in the deal. The Fab Melo trade where the Grizz used their stretch provision to help out Boston also netted the Grizz zero draft picks. Wallace is the biggest sucker in the NBA.
