I think Trump might have jumped the shark. Calling the base stupid (although an accurate statement) is not the best way to get their votes
Trump has been trying to find an "out" of this political race because he doesn't want to look like he's been in it strictly for the attention (which we all know that's why he's in the race). A lot of his outrageous stunts have backfired because the cretin reality TV culture of America has been eating up his bull and keeping his poll numbers high so he can't simply quit. I think his attacking the flavor of the month Ben Carson and halfway calling Carson's supporters stupid is another way of Donald trying to sabotage himself to lower his poll numbers a bit so he can eventually say I'm beat and drop out of the race. It hasn't worked so far

I thought that Trump really hurt himself last night with his mockery of Carson's redemption, but the only thing people will remember now (after the Paris attacks) is "I'll bomb the sh*t out of ISIS."
