LONDON — French warplanes struck Islamic State militants in Syria on Sunday, a French government official said, two days after attackers linked to the terrorist group carried out a coordinated assault on Paris that killed 129 people.
Prior to the attack on Paris, France had been sparing in its strikes against targets in Syria.
News reports in France said the airstrikes were focused on Raqqa, the city in northern Syria that is the self-proclaimed capital of the Islamic State.

    Which begets the questions:
    1. Why has Raqqa not been bombed all along?
If the French Poodles can do it now, we know they could have done it before.
    Along with Barry and Putin.

Is Cosmore links that show the caravans of 100+ trucks carrying ISIS s in the middle of the wide open desert yet untouched.......?

Putin's priority is Syrian rebels, not ISIS because ISIS is also fighting the rebels.

This is bull . Russia is helping Assads army push ISIS back from Aleppo. They even freed the airbase which was under siege from ISIS for 3,years.

Don't believe CIA mouthpieces CNN and WSJ and NYT. Russia is fighting ISIS.

Btw note US media makes zero mention of Al Nusra which is Al Qaeda. Russia is also fighting them while US considers them allies vs Assad

Finally US is negotiating with Putin, Syria and Assad. I guess it took a brutal attack on France to put them back in the negotiating table.

The real enemy is ISIS and Al Nusra. Not Assad. Finally they waking up while I've been clamoring this for months

Also, USA was not hitting inside Syria, and it made the news when USA started. I guess France has the same reticence.

Maybe "some thought" that getting ISIS out of Iraq was the (initial) objective.

Putin’s air force just used its nuclear bombers to lay waste to the capital of the ‘Islamic State.’

The Russian air force just pulled off one of the biggest and most complex heavy bomber missions in modern history—sending no fewer than 25 Backfire, Bear, and Blackjack bombers on a coordinated, long-range air raid against alleged ISIS forces in Syria.

The Tuesday mission, which launched under the cover of darkness from a base in Ossetia in southern Russia, signaled a significant escalation of Moscow’s air war in Syria—and heralded the rebirth of Russian heavy bomber squadrons that once had withered from a lack of funding.

All three models of bomber can fly thousands of miles while hauling no less than 20 tons of weaponry. Only China and the United States possess similar heavy warplanes.

The US flew 7 B-52s together to launch cruise missiles at Iraq in the early hours of Operation Desert Storm in 1991, and a group of eight of the giant warplanes repeated the feat on the first day of Operation Iraqi Freedom in March 2003.

In other words: This Russian attack was “shock and awe”—on steroids.

Looks like Rebels North of Aleppo are getting crushed by 3 fronts. Kurds to the West, ISIS to the East and SAA/Hezbolla to the South.

Hezbollah and T-90 Tanks Propel the Syrian Army in Southern Aleppo

    http://www.almasdarnews.com/article/...uthern-aleppo/

Over the last three weeks, Hezbollah’s absence from the southern Aleppo front has been greatly missed by the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies as they were forced to withstand a massive counter-assault by the Islamist rebels from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki, and the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra”.

Luckily, help arrived earlier this week in the form of the newly brandished Russian T-90 Tanks that were delivered to the port of Latakia in early November.

In addition to the arrival of the T-90 Tanks, a large convoy of reinforcements from the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division and Hezbollah rejoined the battle in the Aleppo Governorate’s southern countryside, giving the embattled soldiers combatting the Islamist rebels a much needed boost.

On Friday morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division – in coordination with Hezbollah, the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo City, Kata’eb Hezbollah (Iraqi paramilitary), Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary), and Firqa Fatiyyemoun (Iranian-Afghani paramilitary) – struck back against the Islamist rebels of Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki, capturing the small hilltop villages of Tal Al-Baraqa, Tal Dadeen, and Tal Ja’eera.

Following the capture of these aforementioned villages, the Syrian Armed Forces launched an assault on Tal ‘Arba’een, seizing this hilltop village after a brief firefight with Jaysh Al-Islam and Liwaa Suqour Al-Sham.

With Hezbollah back in southern Aleppo, the Syrian Armed Forces are poised to make a push to capture the strategic ICARDA agricultural facility that is located along the Aleppo-Damascus Highway; if seized, the Islamist rebels will have their primary supply line cut.

Russia says it’s bombing ISIS in Syria. It’s actually bombing their enemies.

Russia began bombing targets in Syria on Wednesday. Russian President Vladimir Putin has framed his military intervention there as targeting terrorist groups, especially ISIS. And Russia said its strikes today were launched against ISIS.

Don't believe it. The strikes reported this morning aren't happening anywhere near ISIS territory and aren't actually hitting ISIS positions, as a look at the following map from theIns ute for the Study of War (ISW) should make clear. In fact, Russia is bombing ISIS'senemies in the Syrian opposition which makes a lot more sense if you understand what Russia is really trying to accomplish.

According to ISW researcher Genevieve Casagrande, a Russian airstrike this morning appears to have hit Talbiseh, a town in the tan rebel-held swatch just north of Homs, in Syria's east. You'll note that this is nowhere near ISIS territory, marked in gray:

"Talbiseh is home to Syrian al-Qaeda affiliate Jabhat al-Nusra, hardline Islamist Ahrar al-Sham, and a number of other local rebel groups," Casagrande explains. These organizations are generally hostile to ISIS. "The airstrike," she concludes, "did not hit ISIS militants."

    Michael Horowitz
, a senior intelligence analyst at the Levantine Group, says that Russia bombed another town near Homs (Zaafarana) and one (Ltamenah) near the city of Hama, north of Homs. Again, as you can see on the map, none of these are near ISIS territory. According to Horowitz, all of the towns are held by non-ISIS groups.

"Russia targeted only groups that are not ISIS and it may have targeted groups backed by the US," Horowitz told BuzzFeed's Borzou Daragahi.

"It’s really clear that the airstrikes were not meant to target ISIS."

Updated map. (linked to picture from wiki as of 30 nov 2015)

Couldn't link the picture... darn it..

Here is somewhat of an updated map showing somewhat of an update, including recent russian airstrikes. They aren't hitting ISIS much.

Its a pure bull News Organization funded in part by Iran and other ME "News" stations.

They are looking for volunteers from the ME, why don't you join. The site claims to correct all the disinformation. Once that claim is made (see FOX News) You slurp it up like the dupe you are. You say you don't like FOX so you go the other way with an organization even more ridiculous.

    Fckn idiot...
Pretty much. Critical thinking isn't quite his strong suit. hatin'... that is a different story... heh.

US running out of bombs. I guess bombing the desert for 2 and 1/2 years, while pretending to bomb ISIS has its drawbacks

The Air Force has fired more than 20,000 missiles and bombs in the air war against the Islamic State, depleting its stocks of munitions and prompting the service to scour depots around the world for more weapons and to find money to buy them, according to records obtained by USA TODAY.

So we never bombed ISIS targets, we were just dropping bombs haphazardly in the desert.

We have been lied to by all our major newspapers as they are the mouthpiece of the CIA?

News everyone, the US is pretending to bomb ISIS targets so as to waste bombs.
    Hater sez so.

What is the latest on Putin saying he has proof (as in evidence )of Turkey making money off ISIS oil?
Well. Russia released videos and photographs of hundreds of oil tankers traveling into Turkey. The border guards let them in everytime. These trucks moved into a Turkish refinery and a port in Turkey. One could assume with 99% certainty that the oil was processed there and shipped for sale. One could also assume with 99% certainty Turkish oil companies made a cut of that oil. Remember Erdohitlers son is head of Turkish Oil and he has been photographed meeting with ISIS leaders.

Lastly, Turkish media has published stories of weapon shipments going from Turkey into Syria as payment to ISIS. Also media has reported military hospitals are treating ISIS injured. The media members that published this have been arrested and jailed under treason by Erdohitler.

    So that's the "evidence".
