Kawhi had the most pts but Manu was easily the best player tonight
Thats not the 2nd or 3rd time Winobili has delivered. I dont think anyone can sustain that clutchness. Surely there is a high percentage bread and butter close shot LMA/Duncan can take rather than heaving those 3s?
Kawhi had the most pts but Manu was easily the best player tonight
If Kobe was playing at Manu's level, if he had the finish Manu did tonight, they'd talk about it for a month.
Spurs 8-2
PortLOL 4-8
LaMarcus made the right choice.
Manu with a +18! The guy is simply unreal!
Porker seems to put effort on playing D when he goes up against Lillard; might have to do w/ him being torched in the past.
This is true.
Manu in a contract year... nothing to see here.
No doubt...I'm guessing if any other superstar closed out a game like that tonight it would be all over sportscenter.
Come playoff time, I'll take a Manu three over a LMA jumpshot
Indeed. I don't think it gets said enough because its a well known fact. Without Manu to start this season how he has, we are not 8-2 as it is right now.
I suppose Kawhi's real MVP status will be decided when TD and Manu retire. As sensational as Kawhi is, he's not the passer and creator for himself or others, nor the clutch that Manu is, and when he's gone, who knows what will happen?
I'd argue that. Manu was clutch, but Kawhi was consistent the whole game, shot better overall and from 3, had more boards and equal assists.
The ty offensive performances might be a blessing in disguise since they are being forced to play D & getting used to winning close games. The shots will fall eventually & LMA can only improve.
Love it! Standard response, tbh.

He did not want the ball he posted up, had perfect position, and did not put his hands up and turned away. Next time down, he is isolated we stop the ball on that side for him, and he slides across the land.
Its ok. This is the Spurs. It seems to me he just deferred. And I am not bothered "because he's an all star"
What separates Manu from the rest is that he's all business out there. He doesn't get into crowd chanting, or the last play, or emotional surges. He just stands there, hewn of Argentinian ivory, sea foam and horse piss and continues laying that Argie beef to the opponent.
He looks like Kevin Love on last year's Cavs except he isn't being forced to be a spot up shooter.
I'm just glad they were both available tonight. We would not have won without both.
Freaking 38 y/o Manu Ginobili bailed out these niggs tonight. LMA was awful, no rhythm no nothing. Took the ball in the post dribbled a couple of times to pass the ball at the end.
Last playoff series they met:
Parker: 18.4 PPG, 5.2 APG on 51% shooting
Lilliard: 19.8 PPG, 6.4 APG on 41% shooting
...oh, and Lilliard played 10 more MPG.
But he does not run the team. Manu was a distributor, scorer, he set so much up. They play very different games.
Its all good.
Spurs win tonight and the thunder lose.![]()
