That's usually the case when a team consistently win at a 70 percent clip.
I was just thinking, watching the rockets get booed on their home court, in all the years I've watched hundreds and hundreds of spurs games, but I've NEVER seen the home crowd booing our team for a pitiful performance.
i don't have the experience a lot of you crusty old farts have, so i put it to ST directly:
have the spurs (in the tim duncan era) ever been booed on their home court? I don't mean a boo here or there, I mean real booing.
seems like our team has been pretty dominant and the fans are pretty tolerant of bad games, but surely it's happened once or twice, somewhere along the way?
That's usually the case when a team consistently win at a 70 percent clip.
yeah i feel you, i feel you
but srsly, i've seen even dominant teams like the Heat or OKC get booed in their building...just struck me as odd that san antonio has avoided that fate...i know we've had awful games where we've gotten absolutely embarrassed....just don't recall any fan backlash. must be true love
I remember a few after Gervin prior to Robinson's arrival but even then not too bad.
If memory serves, I think there was significant booing when the Spurs blew a huge lead in game 5 WCF vs. the Mavs in 2003. Not as bad as the Miami (Lebron) fans in 2014, but i do recall some booing.
Maybe someone else can confirm?
Nah game 6 happened in Miami.
Of course there have been at some point over the years. Same as any franchise.
Maybe for "the dragon's" breakout game, lol Suns
Happy to hear that flopper Harden got booed on his home court.
I don't recall booing directed at the Spurs in the 2003 playoffs.
There have been a couple of times during the Duncan era where I distinctly remember the team being booed at home, but it's rare and seems to be related mostly to uninspired efforts against mediocre teams and seemed to happen mostly between about 2005 and 2010.
They were saying Boooooooouuuurns
Before i thought the bruuuuce was boooo
I'll never forget how florida boo'd the out of the b2b champs tho![]()
Duncan is pretty much unbooable. I think thee had to be some boos in the Strickland era.
Not so much booing, but why all the empty seats this year?
Don't recall any booing of the Spurs at home in the Duncan era. I will tell you something surprising, I went to a Wizards/Spurs game in DC and it sounded as if I was at a Spurs home game.
Nicely done.

I was at a Laker-Spurs game a few years back when the Spurs were totally lost (couldn't even get the right number of people on the court) and the boo birds came out a bit.
When you're the most successful franchise across all sports in the last twenty years or so, there's not much to boo about. We're as blessed as it gets.
This would be a fun question to put to some of the veterans on the team though.
