nba is over the block and rebounds as a measure for D mentality. It's all about defensive rating and some numbers to justify them..
Not entirely, tbh..a lot of old media and ex-players were campaigning for DeAndre Jordan, last year..

Its not like whiteside isnt gonna get a good drtg
we'll see, so far he's behind more than 2 point though. I believe we'll have the #1 D in the league at the end of the year, if that happens, i can't see a scenario where Kawhi doesn't get it, i mean he has a name already.

Whiteside from what I hear is a bit overrated, defensively. Lebron's name is getting a lot of early buzz this year from DPOY consideration.

I spent half my life living in NY, I've seen first-hand how much irrational, blind hype Knicks fans give to their young players, tbh..Channing Frye, David Lee, Iman Shumpert, Landry Fields, Michael Sweetney, Wilson Chandler, etc were all viewed as "future All-Stars" by most Knicks fans..obviously Jeremy Lin..even a scrub like Lavar Postell IIRC..

Maybe they finally have a legit future All-Star to hype for the first time..

Not sure if he's overrated, but he usually doesn't play much defense in the 1st half to conserve fouls/aggression for later in the game, from what I've heard/seen..

I can see not wanting Okafor, poor FT shooting and a project on defense. But the answer is to trade down, not draft D'Bust. If you really want a PG grab Mudiay at 5-7 and get another late first to play with.

I've always wanted to trade down but majority of the Laker fans doesn't have the foresight tbh lmao. I wouldn't even pick a PG in this draft I did want Stanley Johnson though plus additional picks/fillers for # 2, but I do have a massive hard on for Porzingis now. And you can't help but root for the kid, he handled the boos quite well.

Huh? He was playing in Lebanon and couldn't even get training camp invites just 2 years ago..it's literally unheard of in NBA history..you can find a lot of guards and forwards that came out of nowhere to become productive NBA players, but the 7-footer in basketball is always a prized commodity, even in today's league..

He isn't even just a productive player, too, he's an All-Star..
Most likely he proved to be a knuckle head during his first stint in the NBA & got blackballed from the league. If he was a lazy knucklehead like Andrew Bynum/Javale McGee then that would scare away a lot of teams. Otherwise, DeAndre Jordan was more of a project than Whiteside when he came into the league but DeAndre had a good work ethic.

Most NBA teams aren't going to sign lockerroom cancers unless they are a proven commodity. Cousins could be traded for being a knucklehead despite him being the most talented/dominant bigman in the game. The Knicks basically dumped Z-Bo for peanuts when he was in his prime.

The reason Whiteside even stuck w/ Miami was b/c he was able to play right away as their entire roster was decimated & he didn't have to be buried on the bench waiting for an opportunity. If he was a camp invite then he might have been cut b/c he probably didn't have a good work ethic. Teams will take a scrappy end of the bench guy over a lazy but more talented player.

Larry Sanders is out there to be had but nobody is touching that guy w/ a 10 inch pole

    Porzingis......very nba ready.

Atlanta is on a heavy slide...losing to brooklyn.

The Eastern Conference is highly compe ive. 13 teams under 1 game...or..damn near 50%

The West is much worse than it was before. Golden State..plays tonight. I'm waiting on it. Gonna watch their run till it dies. They play Golden State. With as much doubt as the league continues to place on them, they will dominate this game easily.

Whiteside with the triple double 10-14fg 14 rebs 22pts 10bs. Reminds me of Dwight's triple double years ago.
