Huh? He was playing in Lebanon and couldn't even get training camp invites just 2 years ago..it's literally unheard of in NBA history..you can find a lot of guards and forwards that came out of nowhere to become productive NBA players, but the 7-footer in basketball is always a prized commodity, even in today's league..

He isn't even just a productive player, too, he's an All-Star..
This is truth. I mean, I follow the combine/draft/players going overseas and I never even heard of the guy until he erupted last year. It would be like Upshaw disappearing for the next 3 years, everyone forgetting about him (well not really because Lakers), and coming back on the scene in dominant fashion.

    Not going to happen.

Most likely he proved to be a knuckle head during his first stint in the NBA & got blackballed from the league. If he was a lazy knucklehead like Andrew Bynum (after he got his money) then that would scare away a lot of teams. Otherwise, DeAndre Jordan was more of a project than Whiteside when he came into the league but DeAndre had a good work ethic.

Most NBA teams aren't going to sign lockerroom cancers unless they are a proven commodity. Cousins could be traded for being a knucklehead despite him being the most talented/dominant bigman in the game. The Knicks basically dumped Z-Bo for peanuts when he was in his prime.

The reason Whiteside even stuck w/ Miami was b/c he was able to play right away as their entire roster was decimated & he didn't have to be buried on the bench waiting for an opportunity. If he was a camp invite then he might have been cut b/c he probably didn't have a good work ethic.
I know he was extremely arrogant and gave horrible pre-draft interviews where he would tell teams that he didn't believe he had any flaws, etc, from what I've heard..still, though, it's unheard of that a 7-footer that wasn't even getting invites comes in and dominates at this level..

Most teams aren't going to risk signing this type of player to a big deal, as even the are currently afraid, reportedly, but for the $ he's currently receiving, it's ridiculous..

It's also funny that Knicks fans are salty about it now, since every opponent's announcers mentions how much Knicks fans booed Porzingis..

I wouldn't be surprised if he turned down camp invites b/c he wanted a fully guaranteed contract. He probably had the same arrogant ass at ude as All-Star Bynum before he ever stepped a foot in the NBA. You can't blame him considering the quality or lack-thereof skilled 7 footers & Thabeet being the 2nd overall pick in the previous draft class.

He signed w/ Memphis TWICE but got waived twice right before the Heat picked him up most likely b/c they were intrigued by his skillset but were hesitant to give him a guaranteed contract considering his at ude/volatility since they already had Gasol/Kofus.

You can't also blame Riley for being hesitant to pay him consider the history of 7footer w/ questionable work ethic & lack of passion for the game who fell off once they got paid:

    -Bynum
    -McGee
    -Eddy Curry
    -Larry Sanders
    -Dampier
    -Jerome James

Anthony Davis is seriously made of glass, that's why I refuse the media effort to peg him anyhow until he shows he can stay on court..And it is starting to look legitimately possible that the Pelicans will miss the playoffs..

They need .611 pct the rest of the way to get the 8th seed. So yeah they already missed the playoffs

Yep, based on what we saw in 10 games sample, barring a major trade or injury,it is very unlikely they would make up 6 games over the closest compe ors for 8th seed..

    1- Warriors
    2-Spurs
    3-Clippers
    4-Thunder
    5-Rockets
    6- Memphis
    7-Jazz
    8-Dallas or Phoenix

His shoulder issue has turned into Steph Curry's ankle, hopefully it won't be an issue once his body fully develops.

It could be a pinched nerve which doesn't take much to aggravate. For example, if you have a pinched nerve in your back you can aggravate it by just turning you head

Bogut looks ty physically, and Etzeli is still pretty re ed it seems. Dubs are gonna be extremely dependent on Green on D as much as they're dependent on Curry for offense. Barnes looks great tho.

Curry, Iggy, Green, and Barnes are playing at a really high level. Rest of the team looks average at best.

Demar is so disgusting to watch in a bad way. Just a terrible player. I wouldnt be surprised if hes a net negative.

Jonas is also terrible to watch on the defensive end. Just atrocious.

It just took one Curry steal...an impact play to change Toronto's confidence and throw them off. I simply knew Toronto would turn it over after that because they were answering every other shot with an isolation or score off pick and roll.

Golden State scores effortlessly. By their expressions, they were just waiting for their opponent to go cold. They weren't worried at all about generating offense.
