Not a good example. 37/5/4/1 is definitely the better stat line.
BUT it also depends on the position. If that was the big man's stat line then I might say he needs to rebound more but if it's a guard then i'd definitely take that one.
Also, it depends on how the game went. How many shots were took to get each of those stat lines? Did the 37 point guy get torched? Which person got the WIN? etc.
The example needed more detail.
But I know what you were trying to say. I agree somewhat.
You can't compare him with veterans bc even Kawhi right now is not the Kawhi he was as a rook, or Danny right now is not who he was in his second year in the league, when even the Spurs refused to sign him from the dleague b4 he begged for another opportunity. CoJo took a long time to develop and he looked very marginal to begin with. Right now he's playing really well in the Raptors. Very often teams give up on young guys that end up being traded and flourishing in other teams and other systems, so the key with young players like this is patience.
It is tough to be assertive as a young player in a veteran team. Even Kawhi had trouble in the beginning of his career doing that and tended to defer a whole lot despite his talent. So for Kyle to look insecure and hesitating instead of forcing the issue is unsurprising. For once, I am sure they are telling him not to force anything (which makes him settle for jumpshots, when he could be more aggressive, and for another he still doesn't even know what he can do. Some attempts at aggressiveness will likely end up badly, but that is how you learn.
Anyways, this was a bad game from him, like other guys in the team have had bad games in the past. It is clear though that he's bound to have up and down performances and be inconsistent like all young guys do. Have to keep that in perspective. I am sure the coaching staff has that in mind too.
Wow.
He's been blessed to be in a winning team since he entered the league, but obviously his own contributions to winning have been very signficant.

Kyle Anderson sucks. I'd rather have Butler's intangibles over Anderson's dumb soft 10-15 foot floaters in traffic that barely hit the front of the rim.
u never seen a scorer in the nba?U never seen Bernard King or Wilkins play? And these guys had some really ty teammates and din't have to luxury of playing one on one. U can't double Steph cuz he's surrounded by shooters. And the game today isn't physical by any means. Great shooter, but he's not doing anything I haven't seen before. Westbrooke was more impressive last season when KD was out. And you KNOW i don't like okc or any of their players. You got to look at a lot of factors when judging players. U just can't say, "well he's scoring a lot of points, so he's the best". Just like Kobe when he played with a prime shaq. At that point in his career, he wasn't better than Kidd, Pierce, Tmac, Duncan, or Iverson. All he had to do was catch and shoot because shaq required double and triple teams. We saw his real "leadership" the 3 seasons following 2004 before Gasol was dropped in his lap.
San Antonio Spurs @spurs
With 33 assists tonight, the Spurs recorded their 3rd game with 30+ assists. For the season SA is averaging 26.4 apg, 2nd in the NBA.
