the December schedule of last season was the most brutal I have ever seen ... combine that with numerous injuries incl. Kawhi and you are stuck on the 7th spot in the West
Last year we had a relatively easy schedule, but we couldn't take care of business. Glad Kawhi is holding it down for us this season.

Kawhi wasn't yet ready for the offensive workload. He couldn't get out of the double team in the playoffs. This offseason he worked hard.
We lost cause danny, tony, tiago couldn't defend or score anything. That's who Kawhi is playing big minutes with. 7 game series, last play shot needed, bail out by refs on that tim trying to defend the 2nd to last shot, refs starting the horn early, pop inability to adjust throughout the series.
This years schedule has been pretty easy so far, other than a lot of road games. I am excited about this team cause they are winning and not playing that good yet, but they have not beat any of the top 10 teams yet.
Spurs were 13-4 on December 1, 2014 and were 7-4 after 11 games. So, they got off to a pretty good start.
At 11 games, that 7-4 start seemed slow because GST and MEM went out very hot and Houston, Dallas, and Portland were right behind them.
We weren't beating top 10 teams in 2014 until around the end of the year. The record is a better testament to where the Spurs are tbh.
