Don't know what it is but I'll take it. Kawhi has been a beast for us. Defensively and as the main Banana.

If you consider Kawhi's numbers and pace of the game, he is playing elite.

Spurs have the second best record of the nba with an easy schedule of course but with a new roster and Kawhi has been Spurs best player by a mile. There is no question he deserves to be in any MVP conversation after these first 13 or so games.

Only Curry is clearly ahead, you can argue him being above any other player in the league so far...

"All of the talk about who is the best team in the NBA revolves around Golden State. Rightfully so. But quietly, as they usually operate, the Spurs have a solid hold on the second spot and are poised to be the biggest threat to dethrone the Warriors this postseason. Sitting at 9-2, and in the midst of a six-game win streak, San Antonio has been rolling as they have won their games by an average margin of 14.1 points. Their two losses to the Thunder and Wizards were narrow defeats as they lost by a total of nine points.
Since they beat Charlotte on November 7 to start their run, San Antonio has upped their game and put up numbers that top or rival the Warriors. The Spurs have scored the sixth-most points (104.5), allowed the second least (90.7), have the best Offensive Rating (109.5), have had the most success from the field (49.0) with the most assists (30.2) and second fewest turnovers (11.7). There is not much the Spurs are doing wrong at the moment.
The epitome of a team, the Spurs are the fifth-best rebounding unit but do not have a player in the top 10 of total rebounds. They are second in the league with an average of 26.4 assists per game, but the team-high is only 4.3 per game by Tony Parker who barely registers in the top 50. They have seven players with at least two assists. They have a balanced rotation with eight players playing more than 19 minutes per game with only Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge playing over 30 per game. Their integration of free-agent signee Aldridge into the fold exemplifies the leadership and selflessness taught by coach Gregg Popovich.
The Spurs and Warriors are playing at a ridiculous level right now, but sadly we have to wait over two months, until January 25, to see them face off."

I don't know if I would pick Davis over Leonard right now but there are tons of valid arguments that could be made to pick Anthony Davis ahead of Kawhi.

to pick, right now. potential is not a thing here. Anyone not seeing the enormous difference between the two, should stop reading rotoworld and start watching some games for once..

Those stats are incredible. I'd like to know the last time a team with that kind of winning percentage/APG had their assist leader distributing at such a low rate. Sure it's a small sample size and Tony will probably end up somewhere closer to 5.5 or 6 a game, but it's still awesome.

Which is the correct way to play when your leader and 2nd/3rd best player is 7 feet tall and 40 years old.

Sekou Smith, I wonder how many times I have thought how this guy still has a job as NBA writer...

    Anyway, Kawhi top #5.
