bobcats
Kawhi's offense is like watching a mechanical bull especially when he post up. It's very ugly to watch but when its not working it just mucks up the whole entire offense.
Can't remember who led the Spurs on offense when they were eliminated in first round against Memphis...Or who led them in 2012...That guy isn't that great after all.
Poor guy
His isos are ineffective? Only 4 players are averaging 20+ppg on 50 FG%...Curry, LeBron, Griffin, and Kawhi.
You're such a poster, there's more going on this season than Kawhi being the biggest cog in the offense.
He's efficient for himself, but its not good for the team in general that its too highest scorers (Kawhi and LMA) are iso scorers and not passers. Not good to have both your highest usage players be unable to create shots for teammates.
But we know that's exactly what we get after signing LMA. He's basically a mid-range/post player, Kawhi too.
Since Pop said he wants Kawhi to stay aggressive on offense, and we signed the best FA in the summer, we knew that both players would have high usage.
If the best scorers on the team are iso-players, why you expected anything else...

202 posts and they're all
I didn't expect anything else, but I think Pop expected Kawhi to be able to create for others more, since he keeps bringing it up. I think he also expected Tony to be able to distribute more.
End result: Kawhi not distributing, Tony is going to be inconsistent, bc at this stage he's not a dominant player and very athletic shot blockers throw him off his game.
Well, Pop spent four years saying that Kawhi shouldn't defer...Also, he watches him in practices and knows better than anyone if he's improving, or not, his playmakers skills.
It's hard to believe that Pop had thought Kawhi would become into LeBron as playmaker this season.
But I agree with you that Pop wants Tony to be able to distribute more, since they were talking in the summer about his new role.
There is a very distinguishable line between being passing to the open man and deferring. I call deferring a lack of aggression. Basically you pass up a good shot you had to someone that is not open, or has a worse shot than the one you passed up on. LMA is now suffering from that malady, and Kawhi did for a long time too. Kawhi is now not passing up on shots, but he's also taking on maybe too much when he needs to be aggressive not just for himself but for others so to speak, as well. I think that is what Pop was hoping he improved on, since he's mentioned Barkley and all these other HOF players' and how they baited defenders to do certain things anticipating who was going to be open.
But Pop has also said talented passing maybe cannot be coached, and he has acknowledged when talking about Simmons and Anderson that they are good passers and that those guys do some things naturally, and that is something you can't coach. "Some guys have it, some guys don't."
Maybe this team will find a balance the more they tweak what they are currently doing, but I have said before that they need a glue guy, a true passer. I think maybe Danny is not a good fit with the current team as cons uted, and in time Anderson will be better. Danny's currently having to make too many plays off the dribble, and is not playing to his strengths. He's been thrown off his game a whole lot as well. Unfortunately Anderson can't shoot as well as Danny, and its a limited sample, but the SL looks better when he's playing than they do with Danny.
Only three players shoot 50%+ from the field, 40%+ on 3PTers, and average 20 PPG; Curry, Durant, and Kawhigod.
but he's so inefficient
he should do Rique's PG job for him and be a playmaker

Kawhi don't assist.
Parker can't defend, can't assist, can't space the floor, can't rebound. Probably averages the least points out of all the starting point guards.![]()
Doesn't command the double team either.![]()
They dare his sorry ass to shoot that midrange shot now.![]()
Kawhi shot 25% from the college 3PTer at San Diego St. In 5 short years he's become a 44% 3PT shooter in the NBA. Porker still can't shoot after 15 years in the league.
Tells you all you need to know about who puts in work and who doesn't.
I guess when the coaches asked tony if he wanted to be great or good he said "good".![]()
And has to defend other teams best player on most nights.
OP with some mind blowing truth. Parker haters disillusioned by their own idiotic arguments. Still won't cut bait.
He's a microcosm of this team: His efficiency is very good, but it obscures the fact that he's limited. He can't create for others or get to the free throw line. He'll never make the leap to becoming a superstar without significant improvement in at least one of these areas.
As far as the team, as I've been saying for a while, they're limited offensively. Getting to the free throw line/transition have long been weaknesses, but because of those, they couldn't afford to compound it with a lack of three-point shooting, which they've done.
The offense is still efficient, because they shoot well from two, have a high assist rate and have kept the turnovers down, but it's no longer explosive and on the road, it's downright pitiful.
