Projecter was $799, reviewed as best bang for the buck on wirecutter and the Screen was about $250, again best bang for the buck on wirecutter.

Haven't got it yet Trill, just ordered it. Will post a pic when I get it in and setup though. Projector and screen both supposed to be here by December 7th.

On a projector? Probably ... It's not really supposed to be good though.

So how would you have theater sound if you wanted it?

Example: I want to set up a small projector in my office, and interface cable to the projector via wireless transmitter/receiver. Would I get sound from the cable converter box or the projector? Or would I need a separate system for that?

HDMI from a blu-ray player (or whatever source) to an AV Receiver connected to home theater speakers. The AV receiver would then by HDMI connected to the projector.

Ok. It seems like a large flat panel would be a better option of sound is a concern then, since I wouldn't need the extra components. Granted I wouldn't have theater surround but most large flat panels have decent sound quality already, especially for an office.

Most large flat panes actually have pretty poor sound. It's hard to put good speakers in flat panels and most manufacturers assume you'll be using your own soundbar or surround sound system. Some (though very few) tv's are specially built with high quality sound in mind though... Here's one from sony that's good: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-75-...&skuId=2639155

Cost to image size can't be beat by a projector. If you wanted a giant LCD TV, 1080p isn't gonna cut it either tbh, it will look like . 4K doesn't have hardly any content at the moment, not to mention a good 4k TV at 80-90" is gonna run you 5-6 grand at the least.

I don't mean audiophile level sound. I mean good enough that it doesn't sound like it's coming from a tin can or laptop sound.

You'll need to listen to them at the store before you buy. So many flat panel tvs do sound that bad.

Sure, but I don't plan on putting a 90" image on my wall. Still, I might get a small projector just to avoid the hassle of hanging the TV and the easier interface with the laptop for teleconference presentations (whilst I lay on my couch lol).

I have several large flat panels in my home that sound just fine. I mostly go with Samsung but I also have a Vizio in the master BR that sounds pretty good for just TV sound.

Went with Benq HT1075. According to reviews it's about the best projector you can get for under 1k. They actually say it compares favorably with many of them that are 3-4k.

DMC as far as the sound goes it would be as good or bad as you would want I imagine. I mean you can by a home theater surround sound system to go with hit which would sound really good.

Nice. To overcome the sound issue, I'd recommend investing in some Beats Studio Max and listen to a separate digital audio feed. It'll be like you're in the stadium.

I've had a BenQ W1070 for a couple of years now. It's been rock solid and I'm still on my first bulb. Nothing like having a 100+ inch screen to watch games on.

Just get a decent receiver and pair with 5.1 speakers. Monoprice has good deals on these all the time.
