His sense of humor really comes alive in this interview when they asked him in third person: "What does Manu Ginobili means to the Spurs?"

Gives props to Anderson too, saying he was almost perfect in that 4th quarter, except for the blown lefty layup.

I always like to see Manu interviews because he is so sincere. I think the dynamic among the players themselves is nothing like all the special player crews that like to hate on each other here.

For those who like Spurs and Manu (I guess) enjoy!

Thanks for the post! I'm used to the interviews on the actual NBA website or places like ESPN, so something like this seemed more candid and personal. It's nice to see how this team gels, and how much they care for each other. Elsewhere in the NBA there's the Rockets firing a coach, and their players calling a team meeting to discuss James Harden's defense; divas and showboaters and passive aggressive callouts on their own teammates like LeBron.

Meanwhile here we have one of the biggest stars on the team and he's just focused on having everybody getting along. Kyle usually gets few to no minutes, and Manu talks about how he went out of his way to congratulate him on a wonderful game. People who watch the games are so concerned with who gets what shots and how it goes in and out, while the Spurs just care about everyone shooting the ball when it's a good shot, and working together on and off the court. Anderson hasn't looked good on the court in the NBA, but today he was assertive and made good decisions, knocked down shots, and was surprisingly good on defense. Hopefully the Spurs can develop another great player.

No problem you can find some interviews by Andrew Monaco that are in a less formal setting in that website. I catch the games on League Pass and always miss them. Manu is so candid though, many other Spurs are so reserved or have dry humor like Timmy and Pop. But you are right, they do care about the welfare if the team. It's part of what makes the Spurs so endearing. Cheers.

Love Manu. Talk about down to earth, real dude. Great player but never full of himself. A major reason the Spurs are still pretty good.

On camera and in print Manu comes across as the most eloquent player on the team. It's hard to imagine the Spurs without Tim and Manu. Imagine joining the Spurs and you got guys like this who immediately set the stage so that any future Komes feel out of place. The value of aging Vets who know their place and can still play is always understated. Imagine walking into the Sacramento dressing room...Or the Lakers who have Metta World Chaos to explain how to stop beating your wife, fans, and how to handle falling down stairs while drop dead drunk on Xmas.

Kawhi is quite obviously the best player on the team and quiet. Can he possibly develop into Tim who was super quiet until he found his place as the team leaders left? It will be interesting to see which players become the true leaders when Tim and Manu are gone. For those of you who cannot watch FOX ssw, Tim waits after games to walk out with the last guy off the floor and there is usually a hand on the shoulder, Tim's head bent down for a conversation, and off they go. Boban would be the exception for the head down discussion.

Pop's job will be much more difficult when the leaders leave.

Probably why Duncan won the best teammate award. Can you imagine the feeling if you are coming off the court from a game where you mostly rode the bench and a GOAT shakes your hand and tells you he appreciates your game? For either young guys or long time vets, it has to be a team building moment.

I haven't had a chance to catch any Spurs games this season. Manu looks ripped in that interview. I don't recall him ever being that ripped. Has he gotten more ripped or what?
