U.S. Movies and T.V. Shows Have U.S. Army Ratings
The U.S. Army and Air Force public relations offices have responded to a Freedom of Information Actrequest by releasing huge lists of movies and television shows that they have assessed and, at least in many cases, sought to influence.
Films show up in theaters without any notice that they have been influenced by the Army or Air Force or other branch of the military. And they carry ratings like G, PG, PG-13, or R. But the Army’s until-now-secret assessments of films also give them ratings. Every rating is positive and cryptic. They include:
- Supports Building Resiliency,
- Supports Restoring Balance,
- Supports Maintaining our Combat Edge,
- Supports Adapting Our Ins utions,
- Supports Modernizing Our Force.
Some films have multiple ratings. Truth in advertising, I think, would include these ratings on previews and advertisements for films. I’d like to know what the Army thinks of a film. It would make my decision to avoid it much easier. Go ahead and scroll through the Army do ent linked above, and chances are you’ll find out what a movie you’re currently interested in or recently saw is rated by the folks who brought you Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Yemen, Pakistan, Somalia, ISIS, Al Qaeda, and top ratings worldwide for the U.S. as the nation considered the greatest threat to peace on earth (Gallup, December 2013).
Here’s a comment from Zaid Jilani at Salon: “The sheer scale of the Army and the Air Force’s involvement in TV shows, particularly reality TV shows, is the most remarkable thing about these files.
‘American Idol,’
‘The X-Factor,’
‘Masterchef,’
‘Cupcake Wars,’
numerous Oprah Winfrey shows,
‘Ice Road Truckers,’
‘Battlefield Priests,’
‘America’s Got Talent,’
‘Hawaii Five-O,’
lots of BBC, History Channel and National Geographic do entaries,
‘War Dogs,’
‘Big Kitchens’ —
the list is almost endless. Alongside these shows are blockbuster movies like Godzilla, Transformers, Aloha and Superman: Man of Steel.”
That list is a sampling, nothing more. The full list goes on and on and on. It includes many films about wars or U.S. base construction. There’s an Extreme Makeover Home Edition at Fort Hood. There’s The Price Is Right’s Military Appreciation Episode. There’s a C-Span show called “The Price of Peace” — C-Span is of course often thought of as a neutral fly on the wall. There are, as mentioned above, lots of BBC do entaries — the BBC is of course often thought of as British.

Sorry, boutons, but this naive person is not getting the point of your post. If you mean that I'm being influenced by these shows, I admit that I haven't seen many of them. A little Oprah, OLD Hawaii Five-0, Transformers (I've got 2 boys and their friends - mostly I slept through them), and I'm a big Superman fan.
Another world war will awaken everyone..
your adoration of the military is a result part of the decades long military to insert its corrupt, overreaching, sinister fingers into every hole of American culture, to inflate the military's presence way beyond what it should be in a healthy society.
The military PAYS to get displays of uniformed militarism and flag-waving into every possible public event, "consult" on TV and movies (aka vet, warp), etc.
Where in my posts do you get the idea that I adore the military?
"NBA always gives due respect to the flag, our national anthem and the military."
the US military hasn't done for "our freedoms" since 1945.
Respect for the military is hardly adoration. I appreciate the military and police, which try to keep me free and safe - I don't see them as enemies.
Oh, I see where velik_m quoted me - didn't even see it - his video is disabled for me. There I was thinking that you've got a fantastic memory remembering my quote. I wonder how this thread went from kids to the military.
That's Right!
All immigrants assimilate. Takes about 3 generations. I didn't speak the German of my great-great(ect) grandfather until I learned it in high school/college, just as I know quite a few Hispanics that don't speak Spanish, who all happen to be 3rd+ generation.
Meh. People have been saying that since humans have gotten the ability to speak.
"I see these kids today with their flint-tipped arrows. In my day we used plain wooden sticks or rocks! I wonder how spoiled these kids will be to hunting more easily..."
Not overly concerned, it seems like a lot made out of nothing, part of the "outrage culture" that springs up as people age.
Sharia law is spreading almost unopposed in the former pro-Hitler nations, where lingering guilt over the Jewish holocaust now protects Sharia, seen as the law of another religious minority. Sharia courts presided by Muslim "peace judges" now dot Germany, where even non-Muslim German judges in German courts cite Sharia law and quote from the Quran to uphold polygamy and husbands' right to beat wives when judging cases involving Muslims.
Muslim Street PrayerIn Austria, the government is convicting even non-Muslims of violating Sharia law. In 2011, Vienna High Court upheld the lower court conviction of Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff for making this factual statement about Muhammad:
"We all know that Muhammad married Aisha when she was 6 years old and consummated the marriage when she was 9. Now, what do we call this behavior if not pedophilia."
In France, home to 13 million Muslims, the government no longer controls the banlieus (right, below is Venice, Italy), the densely-populated, predominantly Muslim ghettos that encircle most major French cities and where the French police seldom patrol. If that were to change, the Muslim population among France's prison inmates would rise even higher than the current 70%. All meat sold in Paris is now Halal, having been sacrificed to Allah the moon god.
In Denmark, Muslims are calling for areas with large Muslim populations like Copenhagen's Tingbjerg to become Sharia law zones patrolled by Muslim religious police modeled after Saudi Arabia's muttawa to apprehend and punish all Sharia law violators.
Such Muslim police already exists in Spain, where Sharia courts now threaten women for driving cars or working outside the home. Recently, a woman accused of adultery was sentenced to death by a Sharia court and escaped it by seeking refuge in a government police station.
In Holland, where "Muhammad" is now the most common name for boys born in its four largest cities (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht), death sentences against Sharia law-breakers actually have been carried out. High profile victims include Pim Fortuyn and Theo van Gogh, both killed for criticizing the self-proclaimed "Religion of Peace".
And right here in the good ole USA:
<NationalReport>In a surprise weekend vote, the city council of Dearborn, Michigan voted 4-3 to became the first US city to officially implement all aspects of Sharia Law. The tough new law, slated to go into effect January 1st, addresses secular law including crime, politics and economics as well as personal matters such as sexual intercourse, fasting, prayer, diet and hygiene. The new law could see citizens stoned for adultery or having a limb amputated for theft. Lesser offenses, such as drinking alcohol or abortion, could result in flogging and/or caning. In addition, the law imposes harsh laws with regards to women and allows for child marriage.
Some in town seem to welcome the new legislation while others have denounced the move as “abhorrent”, a threat to freedom and incompatible with the Cons ution. When asked by National Report about the need for such a law, local resident Jeremy Ahmed stated:
“It is because of our need that Allah the Almighty, in all his generosity, has created laws for us, so that we can utilize them to obtain justice. We hope to see other cities taking this action in the face of the governments inaction of passing such legislation”.
Other local residents have taken to social media sites with comments ranging from “praise be to Allah” and “long live Islam” to “RIP Dearborn” and “Only in Obama’s America would an American city consider Sharia Law”.
The city of Dearborn is a well-known safe haven for Muslims and Muslim sympathizers. With a population of around 98 thousand people, roughly 30% of its residence are Muslims making them the largest concentration of Muslims in the United States.
The dangers of Sharia Law in America were first outlined in a 2010 study produced by the Center for Security Policy (CSP) led “Sharia: The Threat to America“, a 352-page book based on authoritative sources of Islamic law. While sharia includes strict rules for prayer and fasting, it is also an all-encompassing legal and political code that covers all aspects of life including those that have nothing to do with religion.

what happens when you don't double check your facts is that people laugh at you for being a gullible moron.

Lol gullible moron.
Mr. Smarty Pants gets his information from books, magazines, newspapers, the internet, radio, and television. He also includes facts he has overheard at parties.
So how do you fact check the article above that? http://www.billionbibles.org/sharia/sharia-europe.html I put in "sharia law in europe" Do you have to scroll through all those pages? or do you just put the link in?
If you're referring to me, it's "Ms. Smarty Pants" and she.
I didn't really read any of your post above that. Only the Dearborn, MI thing raised my eyebrow. 3 second google search confirmed the silliness.
I'm going to google the very first line now: " Sharia law is spreading almost unopposed in the former pro-Hitler nations"
I'm forecasting about a 70% chance of more lulz.
You fact check that article by looking at the URL and noticing that it's BillionBibles.org.
Judge Christa Datz-Winter was subsequently removed from the case.
